I Picked this up Thursday. I also have a Charger sitting at the gun shop that I have not found the time to go pick up yet.

I have a soft spot for the Model 27's. I've owned 6 of them over the years, and yet, currently, I do not own a single one. In the (long) past years, I owned a total of 3 of the 5" versions. Blame Skeeter for that. Stupidily,, I let them all go. All I have currently is a model 19.

Snagged this 6" 27-2 last week. It's got some freckles and wear from holster use/storage but is mechanically sound. It's the only .357 I have much affinity for anymore. Got it for $369! This partly makes up for the old 5" I passed on several years ago that was in worse shape but more money. Always regretted it.

Wife gave me a Uberti 3rd model Dragoon this morning but no pics yet.

Gussers, nice little 32. I have two of the SS plowhandle 32's but no CCH or birdsheads in that caliber.

Craig C - that is a nice S&W for that money. Most I see are $500 or more even with a few minor warts (I like these better anyway as I shoot all the guns I have). Maybe I need to make a sweep of West TN to check out the shops that direction.

My last month has been eventful with 4 new Rugers. I bought a 45 Colt and a 45 ACP of the TALO 3.75" birdshead Vaqueros. They are sweet. 8)

Friday, I picked up a consecutive pair of Lipsey's SS 45 Convertibles from Bigbore45colt here on the forum. One of these went to Dad for Christmas. :D

I got a little cash for Christmas but I'd better save a little money for unexpected things - no more guns for a while. I don't know what I would buy next anyway but the SHOT show is only a few weeks away.

Thanks,

Blued NM Bearcat was the last I actually purchased. The last I spent money on is a 5 1/2" SS SBH I put on layaway last month.

I'll play. My last handgun purchase August or September; I don't recall which. A 7-1/2" NM Blackhawk Cal .45. Last money spent on a handgun was steel grip frame, steel ERH, Ruger trigger spring and main spring. Here it is.

My last handgun purchase was a Ruger Blackhawk convertable strait from the factory, shot it for the first time on Christmas Morning(was given as a Gift from my wife).
Super gun to shoot in all 3 callipers 38/357/9mm.
I am a Smith guy but I realy do like this gun.

Happy Holidays to all. :D

I purchased a stainless BH in .357 with 4 5/8" barrel - it's a perfect match for my single six and .45 blackhawk (see my avatar). It completes my single action, short barrel stainless rugers. Are there any others I don't know about? I wish they'd make one in .32H&R!

This was my Christmas present to myself.....and it cost me the purchase price AND 4 hours shopping with my wife IN THE MALL!! (And I had to be HAPPY about it). I think it was worth it.

Holster is a handmade, purchased it on EBAY from Circle Seven Leather Works

After debated on purchasing one of these Judges ..they came out with a Ultra light Public Defender weighs in at 20 OZ and Federal came out with some rather impressive 410 Self Defense rounds using 4 000 Buck at 850 fps...these .36 caliber copper plated shot penetrate well ,group very well at 5 to 20 ft. and it would be like getting shot by 4 380's at one time....

I wouldn't offer to stand in front of one, but I think Taurus is proving the axiom about one born every minute with those.

Chris, I have the tendency to agree with your assessment of the Judge.
On the other hand, shop owners can't keep them in our part of the world.

My last purchase was a little 2' RB nickel 37 that I ran across at a really nice price a couple of weeks ago. jack

This thread brought it to my attention that I have not bought a handgun in well over a year! Disturbing, I know. I do plan on buying some flavor of 38 caliber LCR in 2012 though. :P

You could get the 5 1/2" .327 Fed Mag BH and a hacksaw!

Ha!! good one, Froggie - Can you promise my hacksaw job will look as good as my factory grown SA's? I'll look into that

No pics (yet) but I traded a Stevens 12 guage pump on a 2 1/2" S&W 686 Plus at the gun show a couple of weeks ago. Had been kinda wanting a 686 Plus for some time and although a 3" or even a 4" would have been my preference the little 2 1/2" is nice. And dang if I don't shoot it better double action than single action! The trigger stacks just before letting go and I can line up the sights at just the right time. It has temporarily edged out my stainless Speed Six as my carry magnum but I expect the Speed Six to regain its' usual position after the new has wore off the 686.

Nice one, Lee! I've been eyeballing one in a local shop for the last year. Very, very tempting. Be sure to post a range report. ;)

7.5 inch 44 Magnum Original Size VAQUERO, off gunbroker. They said it belonged to a TURNBULL employee...beautiful real case hardened frame and hammer, SUPER BLACK HAWK grip frame with RUGER walnut grips, carbona(?) blue on the rest EXCEPT the aluminum ejector rod housing. I got a SMOKIN' DEAL on it for less than the cost of the custom work!

The trigger pull could be better and I'd like a SUPER BLACK HAWK hammer...case hardened if possible. Replacing the aluminum with a steel ejector rod housing blued to match is right after the trigger job. My "after market brass DRAGOON grip frame" and custom grips sure would make it into a BBQ gun.
