Nice snag, just out of curiosity, I have a KMK678GC but without the "L" at the
end of the model designator, yet mine appears identical to yours, is there some
detail I'm missing? Thanks...........John

Difference really only cosmetic. Trigger is gold and grips are different. Just a variation on the MKK678GC. But in trying to get all the Mark IIs this is just another one needed if trying to get all the distributor models.

Thanks, I missed that gold trigger since on my screen it looked more silver
than gold so I thought you had a Volquartsen trigger in it like I do. I did
notice the difference in grips but mistakenly assumed that was just the
vagaries of life at Ruger when the MKII line was in production. Good luck
with getting all the distributor variants, I haven't gone that far yet having
just gotten mine from someone in NY state who had it since it was made;
I've only now gotten in a scope for mine due to needing an optical boost
due to 71 year old eyes. I need to review my RENE data, I didn't ever
realize there were distributor variants out there, I will take a stab in the
dark and guess these might be through Lipdsey's?

Yes. Lipseys. There are a good many distributor variations. Hard to get them all. Some have very low numbers made.
Add to that the factory variations like the three different grip versions on the MK4B and it gets even more challenging.

Are any of your MkIIs factory drilled and tapped? I had a 22/45 MkII that was and it was made at the end of the MkII production run just before the MkIIIs were introduced. I believe there were also late production standard MkIIs that were D&T by Ruger.

Yes. I have MK10, KMK10, MK678, KMK678, MK512, and KMK678G that are factory D&T. Also have MK512CA which was a distributor model that was factory d&t. I am missing d&t KMK512 and MK678G. I have never seen or heard of d&t standards.

No, I wasn't referring to the old Standard (aka MkI) pistols, I was asking about the regular metal frame MkII as apart from the 22/45 MkII that I had. My only experience with factory d&t MkII guns was my 22/45 version.1gunsnotenough said:
