I once had a friend/acquaintance that had 3 young daughters. They all came to our house one weekend morning & the kids were unruly to say the least. Thought my wife would flip out & it would be all on her, as I just knew she was fixin to lay down the law. But she fooled me. Told me he was my friend, take care of this or I'm running all of them out of the house.
After a request or 2, I raised my voice a bit & asked the girls to leave things alone & please sit down. Their dad kind of glared at me & with a snippy tone stated; you just don't like kids do you?
I answered with; I love kids, as long as they are polite, disciplined & have been taught some manners. After that I didn't really know what else to say, as that was the the whole deal IMO. They soon left. I don't know if he was angry or embarrassed. The second one would/should be the answer. If I had acted like that at someone's home my dad would have whipped me before we left, & mom would gotten a piece of flesh when we got home.
Just the way it was, & not a dang thing wrong with it IMO.
