I got tired of waiting on my local gun stores to get one in so I just bought one off Gunbroker and should have it Wednesday or Thursday. Paid $350 and found two Ruger OEM 25 round mags for $30 each.

I plan to all either a PA Micro Dot or Bushnell TRS-25 and shoot the crap out of it.

Is there anything I should look for on it when I get it? Any known issues? Any recalls?

Here are the gunbroker pics.

Your links didn't work!

Both wifie and I each have one. Lots of fun with zero problems. I think BX-25s will free up so you can get a few more. We have several BX-25s, also with zero problems. Find some ammo (the hard part) and shoot the crap out of it.

I had a chance to buy a TD but passed when I found out that it won't take many scopes. I bought a 10-22 International with a Mannlicher walnut stock for the same price, $349. Looks a lot nicer than that plastic stock.

What scopes do not work on a TD?

None, but the larger scopes need to be removed if you want to use the bag...

I sold mine shortly after I bought it. Hated the sights, lousy trigger and plastic stock.
To each his own.

I don't own one, yet. But I will. I am waiting for the prices to come down to somewhat normal. With that said I have a good friend who brings his to the range every weekend so I can drool over it. I am not a big fan of the stock 10/22 but I am very impressed with the TD. I agree the sights are not the best. But in a pinch they are adequate. I agree the plastic stock feels a little too plastic for me. What impressed me was when my friend put an inexpensive scope on it and he can reach out to 100 yds and get decent size groups with it. In any scenario where one might need a TD type rifle I can't think of a better gun to have. JMHO.

BTW, I own two highly modified 10/22's and love them. I convinced my friend to put in a better trigger and he loves it even more than when he first got it. I couldn't agree more.

I wanted to mount a Nikon Prostaff. It will mount but won't fit in the Ruger case because it is too long as are most other rimfire scopes. So the takedown feature is nullified. Only reason I wanted a TD was for easy portability, but if I have to carry in a standard rifle case I'd rather have the Mannlicher.

Maybe I am missing something, but I mounted a large Big bore scope on my TD using lever quick disconnect mount bases. The bases allow the scope to be exactly returned to zero. The scope and base fit perfect in the TD nylon bag.

We checked the Nikon and others and found they were too long to fit into the case. Maybe your bag is bigger.

I bought a scope mount base and a quick detach mount from Cheaper that Dirt and put a tasco 3x9 on it and it fits just fine in the case and the scope returns to zero every time. I believe the mount system is a UTG. No problems.

By the way Joewisc. I do like your International. I have one just like it in the safe. Variety is the spice of life.

There are many scopes that will fit on a TD and stay on and fit the riugher 10 22 TD bag...I have a Leopld that never comes off and works just great witht he baga and weapon..But if you get a monster scope...more than 12 inches long...forgetabout it fitting in the bag while on the weapon...I love and have a lot of wood on my rifles, but the TD is perfect as it was intended to be light and breakdownable:) Add a scope, a different barrel ring and bipod, a one point sling, some extra mags patched together and you will be cooking for a long time...if you ca get some decent 22lr ammo:)))

Not your cup of tea...thats fine too...
