Junk E-mails increasing, is it just me?

I use Outlook for my email, and it does a pretty good job of seperating Junk emails from the ones I want to look at. I open and look at the Junk file several times a day, scanning the emails for any that I want or need to see that inadvertently ended up being put with the Junk. Sometimes my e-bill from the natural gas provider gets into that folder even though I have labeled that company as "Not Junk". But lately the number of Junk emails seems to have increased dramatically and I wonder if it a general thing or something just affecting me for some reason. A few days ago I made a note of the number of Junk emails deleted when I emptied the Junk folder over the course of 24 hours, and for the last few days it has numbered close to 200 such emails. I generally have not tried to "unsubscribe" from those in the Junk file, thinking that all I might accomplish is confirming that my email address is a valid and active address and end up with even more junk mail. I now that that some of the websites that I go to are likely selling my email address more than they have in the past, such as Amazon, or possibly one of the several forum websites that I frequent. Anyone else seeing this surge in Junk emails? I estimate that up until the last few weeks I was only getting 30 or so of these Junk emails daily.

Indeed, I am suddenly getting at least 30 junk emails a day. Way more than I ever received. Fortunately my junk Mail filter works very good. Still it is a PITA, and I don’t mean pocket bread.

Yeah, some of them are quite cleaver and real looking too. Have had some claiming to be Wal-Mart, Fed Ex, and even the postal service. If you look at their return email you know it's BS. I know it's BS anyway when they tell me I have a package waiting when I didn't order anything. LOL

Some companies send me 5 or more emails a day. It’s very annoying. And I don’t want to send them to the junk folder because occasionally I do buy something from them, and then I wouldn’t want to miss one of those emails.

One I do appreciate is Domino’s Pizza. I got on their list and every day around 4:45 or 5pm I get an email from them with a daily special. We’ve only gotten Domino’s Pizza twice in the last 9 months, but their emails are still fun to get and read.

One thing that is increasing is spam phone calls.

I get a lot and blocking the sender doesn't seem to work, neither does "Unsubscribe" sine they use so many different URLs. More spam call also, I don't use my landline hardly at all (the hospital/medical center is about all and they have caller ID). If I don'y know the caller or the number, I don't answer. I still have to delete 10-20 calls per day. Most are simply silent!

I quit unsubscribing to spam. Since the emails are basically scams it seems like I was just confirming a valid address to a crook. Yes it seems like I’m getting more than ever too.

I get hundreds.... and I have to go through my junk file where a good many of them go because sometimes it throws one in from somebody I actually need to respond to. Once you give some web site your email address they start inundating you with stuff and many then sell your address to others... in theory you can go and unsubscribe to the site but I think a lot of them... probably the Russian ones then have your email address and just change their address... almost all the junk ones I get have some type of political title or gun related title... here are just a few:

Right Wing Army
Red Blooded Conservative
Wired Conservative
Ammo Daily
National Conservatist. (I spelled that right)
Rightwing.org
Patriotic Voice

I don't even look at these but I'm pretty sure if I do and click on their link they are really trying to sell me something.

No expert here but I think if you send it to junk it will automatically be directed there instead of your incoming.

And usually IF you try to "Block", or "Unsubscribe" you get told it will take 10, yes that's TEN days for it to end.
RE: "SPAM CALLS" Whatever happened to the "Do Not Call List" ?
of course IF you call the number back, you discover that it is "Not in Service" . Too bad you cant bill them or sue them for several THOUSAND DOLLARS !!

Those annoying junk e-mails are the only reason the Internet exists. The question of whether it's worth it is open...
