I use Outlook for my email, and it does a pretty good job of seperating Junk emails from the ones I want to look at. I open and look at the Junk file several times a day, scanning the emails for any that I want or need to see that inadvertently ended up being put with the Junk. Sometimes my e-bill from the natural gas provider gets into that folder even though I have labeled that company as "Not Junk". But lately the number of Junk emails seems to have increased dramatically and I wonder if it a general thing or something just affecting me for some reason. A few days ago I made a note of the number of Junk emails deleted when I emptied the Junk folder over the course of 24 hours, and for the last few days it has numbered close to 200 such emails. I generally have not tried to "unsubscribe" from those in the Junk file, thinking that all I might accomplish is confirming that my email address is a valid and active address and end up with even more junk mail. I now that that some of the websites that I go to are likely selling my email address more than they have in the past, such as Amazon, or possibly one of the several forum websites that I frequent. Anyone else seeing this surge in Junk emails? I estimate that up until the last few weeks I was only getting 30 or so of these Junk emails daily.
