According to Forbes, Matt Damon's latest Jason Bourne flick took a hit of 71% last night. While most movies dive after their opening, it was probably because of his closed mouth characterization of the Bourne character in this latest outing, speaking only 45 lines in the whole movie.
Or...or...it could also have been Damon's hypocritical stance on firearms when he stated he admired the Australian version of gun control where the government lied to the people and eventually just confiscated their firearms. He also stated that he wished the U.S. had the same system. Needless to say his popularity has taken a huge hit.

One Jason Bourne movie was more than enough.
How many are there, 50?
People are probably just bored with them now.
How many people do you have to kill before it gets redundant?

I am always amazed at how stupid these Hollywood types are. So you are going to bring out a movie, why not p-ss of a very large segment of your targeted viewers. Makes sense to me. While I am at it how about Bud light using Amy Schmor (sp) to push beer to the NASCAR crowd. That would be like having Hitler sell shower heads to the Jewish population.

Or it might be that everyone has finally figured out that the Bourne movies are the stupidest, lamest films ever made? Took me only two of them to figger out there was no plot and was never gonna be a plot, just a bunch of people chasing each other around for two hours.

They're basically live-action Road Runner cartoons with Damon playing Road Runner and everyone else playing Wile E. Coyote. The cartoons are better.

A friend of mine went to see the second one in the theater, and was so impressed with the storyline he dozed off right in the middle of the climactic car chase through Moscow. John woke up during the closing credits; AFAIK he still doesn't know how the story ended . . . and hasn't really cared to find out.

It's too bad; Robert Ludlum's original novel was excellent.

Good the holly wood hypocrite leftists- loose more money-

Almost never see a new movie those days- they are awful stupid and vile- and the money goes to those who hate traditional America.

Same here. I try not to even buy the products they sponsor in commercials.

I have the DVD collection of the previous movies. After his comments. I will never pay to watch another. My dollars, his stupidity.

The real Matt Damon:

Pushing Bud Lite to anyone who wants a beer should be punishable by whipping!

Matt Damon is merely another actor who found success in his field, viz. movies. That's the only credit he has to his existence. He's like Sylvester Stallone, Liam Neeson, Barbara Streisand, etc. They think they're larger than life and important.

The bigger problem is that there are millions of brain dead movie goers who haven't had an original thought since, ever. And they're influenced by Damon and company.

I have taken to watching smaller independent films and low/no budget stuff I download off of youtube.
as well as old films from the 50's...
the ratio of bag vs. good movies in the independant world seems on par with the big dollar films. In fact I have seen some very decent films that have probably never been in a conventional theatre. And I don't have to be annoyed by the big payday "holier than thou", actors who should not speak off set.....

The movie had a 120 mil budget. Made over 110mil on opening weekend and is already over 140 mil in total gross. It took a hit the second weekend because of the opening of Suicide Squad, just like everything else did. So Matt Damon is doing just fine and you can bet there will be Bourne movies as long as they make money. There are 12 Bourne novels by the way

As to his political views, or ANY actor for that matter, I could care less. I like movies. If I like the premise or the story, I watch it. If I don't, I won't watch it, pretty simple. That's all a movie means to me. It's entertainment and that's the only factor for me.

Yep, it's all about the "paper" (quoting snoopdog)).
I have a very small voice in this world, actually pert near none, but I won't spend one red cent that might benefit this sob, or others like him. No he won"t miss it, but I sleep better. Besides there is plenty of good stuff to do besides giving money to those who oppose our values.
Nuff said.

But that's the thing..........what you do doesn't effect him in any way shape or form. He gets paid X dollars for that movie if one person sees it or several million, makes no difference. The studio foots the bill, not the actor.

And if you choose to not spend your money with ANY company who has employees who don't see things the same way as you do............you are going to be a rich man, because you won't be spending any money
