In another thread I mentioned J.D. Jones, and thought of this: A few years back, well, more than a few years, J.D. had an article in gun magazine showcasing a custom Ruger Super Blackhawk he had made up. He had the barrel cut to 5" and Mag-Na-Ported as well as tuned up. My son-in-law was taken by the photo of the revolver and had his Super Blackhawk cut to 5" though no porting. My SIL was killed in a car wreck in 1979 and shortly after my daughter gave the gun to me. After I had it awhiie I had Doug Turnbull do his case coloring on the gun, and CaryCdid the gripps. I also replaced the beavertail hammer spur for a Blackhawk hammer, which I prefer.

Great minds. Here is my 5" Super with Blackhawk hammer and smooth trigger with beautiful CaryC grips. Next to my son's I had customized years ago.
