It's Valentine's Day,,,,

And a Happy one to all!

Take the time today to tell those whom you care about that you care & love them. Then,, do as we all should,, and do it often,, not just today! Often,, the simple act of showing you care makes a huge difference in a person's life.

I've done it daily with Miss penny for over 27 years now. We never part company w/o a kiss and an "I love you!" We know there is always the possibility it may be the last words we speak to one another.

Been happily married for 53 years now, approaching 54. Valentines Day is one holiday we DON'T celebrate. I have the rare wife who sees going out for dinner as a chore, much preferring to just stay home and find something in the freezer. She also dislikes roses and doesn't eat candy. And a few years ago she begged me to stop buying any jewelry as wearing such is just not her thing. Now if she only loved guns she would be the perfect wife, but then again, not much in life is perfect! Even getting her a Valentine's Day card elicits more grief than joy, because she never thinks to buy a card for me and then says she feels guilty if I get her a card. I better not forget our anniversary or her birthday, but she is happy with totally ignoring Valentine's Day. Wishing all of you a good Hallmark Holiday out there, and help keep the florists and candy makers in business!

We generally just give each other some goofy cards and maybe chocolate from our local 'chocolate dispensary'. . Bomboys. She gave me some crunchy somethings and I gave her chocolate covered strawberries. I will fix supper tonight. Filet mignon, baked taters, green beans.

I truly hope everyone has had a good day. Shared it with the one(s) they love.

It's NOT about candy,, flowers,, etc. It's about loving & caring.

Miss Penny & I also do not fall into the "hype" of flowers, candy & such. We do get cards,, and most of all,,, we do things all the time together to show each other we love one another.

With it being both Valentine's Day and Friday we did not go out, but I did tell Kenneth we are going out tomorrow and make a night of it and then come home for even more fun. His only comment was "I'm getting some!".

We have the same issues here. Friday night seems to be the big night to go out. We also decided to wait till tomorrow night to go out. There's a local store (Fred Meyer) here, that makes good juicy Strawberry's dipped in chocolate so I got a half dozen. They are very good.

Large card, small heart filled with Lindor truffles, and a dozen red roses. Take out deep dish pizza for dinner.

Total of 60 dollars for the night. Money well spent IMO.

My wife is low maintenance, and doesn't expect much. I like to spoil her now and then.
With 36 years of marriage behind us, (together for 40), I must be doing something right. :)
