Well, once again,, it's time for my local FoNRA fundraiser event. In one week,, we'll be having it in Asheville NC again. We've had a little lower ticket sales this year and part of that is due to Helene & how it's affects many of my attendees.
But we plan on having a fun event,, and trying to help get folks back into a normal attitude of things.
Miss Penny & I have been working hard behind the scenes,, as well as my committee working hard at selling tickets & getting donations.
Last year,, my district,, the western half of NC,, had about 25-26 events. We had a net of $380,000.00 for our district to be granted to programs in our area. We had 1.2 million in grant requests. So, in January, we had our grant workshop to review 102 grant requests, and try & fund as much as we could.
With Helene,, and other challenges,, we fear that 2025 may not be quite as good,, but we'll be giving it our best efforts.
Oh,, and a side note;
We normally have a NRA Board member,, Walt Walters attend. Sadly, his health is preventing his attendance this year. BUT,, we do have a candidate for the Board, John Richardson,, who is one of the recommended ones by FMC (Amanda) to be elected. We are hopeful!
