We're having one of the coldest nights of the winter. It's only 8:00 pm , it just hit zero and the wind is blowing like crazy. My neighbor that lives just a couple of miles up the road is a little higher in elevation and had -8 this morning. A few days ago it was in the high 40's and the sap was running. We have 2 wood fires going in the old farm house and are nice and toasty warm at 70+ degrees. Life is good.

Yep! I too am feeling the effects of global warming. At 0800 this morning it was 18 and had started to warm up. Right now it is warmer at International Falls Minnesota (the icebox of the US) then it is here in Northern Maryland. Now that it is March we are getting February weather.

15F this morning...hasn't been this cold in several weeks. We did get some snow flurries here the other day...just enough to cause some traffic issues.
In fact, it hasn't been but a few days since the thermometer was reading in the upper 70s.
I was thinking of moving the snowblower to the back of the garage...I think I will put that off for another week or so, just in case.

Last week I was in Los Angeles, it was 10 degrees COLDER than at home in NH (60 vs. 70), now in NH, it is 20 degrees And the wind chill is 0 degrees...I love New England weather.

I know not the arctic conditions that you're feeling back east, but even out here we just can't get warmed up. It's right at freezing at 9AM, and snow is predicted twice this week. In the old days, next week would be Spring Vacation for the local schools. Over many years, Spring Break has migrated to the end of March, which is good. Spring doesn't happen as early as we'd like.
Being not too far from some of the most gorgeous ocean beaches in the world, our coast is a destination spot for young folks on Spring Break. On the first day, the kids are parading around the beach tourist towns in their bare legs and surf-wear. By afternoon, they are all wearing sweat shirts and sweat pants that say "I Visited Seaside Oregon". :mrgreen:

I'm with Frank, it's colder now than it had been in February. Not as cold as Vermont but it never is. I fired up the fireplace for the first time in weeks. Only good thing is it's sunny and the forecast is for warmer weather this week.

The differences in climate is one of the many things that make this country great, I love the four seasons of New England and love living in the great state of NH...not all the Northeast is liberal, you know :lol: :shock:

It went from a record 83 here Wednesday to snow flurries Friday. Spring weather is a hoot!

It`s midnight in Cedar City Utah. We just got 5"s in the last 3 hours and it`s still snowing. Interesting as the latest forecast said UP TO one inch possible.

The last time (actually the ONLY time) I was in Cedar City was to land with 5 OH-6 helicopters as we ferried them across country. It was February and it was COLD there then. My son and I have a trip to Cabela's in Hamburg, Pa scheduled for Saturday. May have to re-schedule that...not much interest in a 3-4 hour round trip in a snow storm.

Well I didn't need the blower today but had about 1 inch on the front porch by noon. It stopped for a while and it is now 4:01 and it is snowing again. They are calling for something a bit more than a dusting this coming Tuesday through Wednesday. No, I DID NOT put the snowblower away. My wife is SMART!

Weird weather here today, 4 inches of snow on the cars and grass an nothing, zero, on the streets. It's been warm enough the last couple of days so the concrete and asphalt were too warm for the snow to lay on. 375supermag, your trip to Cabelas will be no problem.

Two days ago it was near 70 and I was sitting on my front porch starting my tan...yesterday it snowed and last night it was 17. This 'global warming' is starting to get old. :roll: :roll:
A few weeks ago I was out on my motorcycle several times, and even took the liner out of my jacket. This morning its 16 degrees here in northern Illinois. I guess global warming ended with Obama's time in office. Maybe if we all start coal fires in our barbeque grills it will warm up the country.
