I have been shooting Ruger Revolvers for a long time, and always considered the Bearcat a novelity, kind of a joke.
I had a chance to pick up a NM Bearcat that looks to have been fired very little for $200.
Well, for that price, I figured why not.
We took it to the range last night to see if this toy could really shoot.
Well, son-of-a-gun, this thing is kinda fun.
The other guns stayed in their cases, and I shot the heck out of that thing. What a fun little revolver.
Sure wish I had seen the light years ago, it sure is a hoot to shoot.
And the thing that surprised me the most, is is plenty accurate too.
I am a convert, I promise to never turn my nose up at one again.

I ALWAYS enjoy my visits with Terry! :D

Shootin' range or Living Room, it's always a most informative,
great experience.

I bought a Bearcat when they reintroduced them in the 90's. Fine fit and finish, though jthe action was just a bit stiff. Took it shooting once and put it away. Took it out last year and if I didn't keep stuff bouncing all over the place at 25 yds  Maybe I'll take it to the range this weekend and see what it actually does at 25 yds.

Bucks, I like a lot of the older gunwriters but do admit, I liked Terry the best. I still have his articles and thanks to my age, it's like reading them anew again. I mentioned on TRF he was my favorites and I'll be damned if he didn't contact me. I'd sure like to meet him someday just to shoot, no pun intended, the **** with him.

My favorite holster for the BC after the Rusty Sherrick Dangerious Dan. Its on the expensive side yet it is always where you left it. My second chose and more likely is the field holster from Bob Mernickle. It covers most of the gun and all of the trigger guard. I am getting one in left handed draw. I plan to learn to shoot the BC left handed. I also want to try some of that new CCi ammo designed for hi cap magazines. It might be easier to load. Calthrop

The BearCat is a serious .22!

I carry mine more than any other .22 pistol. Even when I'm heading out for a woods walk with no other firearm! The fat foxy on the left offered me only a head shot at 15 yards! The other one was at 10.

Tasty shooting Dan. The Bear Cat is a serious shooter is the shooter is serious about the BC. Thanks for the picture. Calthrop

Very nice shooting Dan!

The Bearcat I own is a spectacular shooter as I believe most of them are. I sure don't do it justice with my aging eyes. When I finally took it to the range in Oct. to see where it was hitting, I was amazed to see all of my shots inside the 4" bullseye at 25yds. I certainly wasn't expecting that and a 2 5/8th" group to boot with just one type of ammo. I believe a better shooter could cut that easily in 1/2.

Like the Single Six, the Bearcat is a must have and I like it more than my old 4" S&W M34.

Kill those gorram tree rats! Get out there and kill MORE of them!

I can bounce golf balls at 20 yards, one of my favorite shooters. I traded for it on a whim, so glad I did. One of the finest revolvers ever built.
