Thanks,it seemed like a pretty obscure topic,so I didn't Google it, but you'd think I'd know by now, NOTHING is too obscure obscure for the interweb!

yes, this had been reported by Chet 15 ( the RENE) way back, heck I think it was in the Feb 2004 issue if the RENE Reference Guide of Ruger Firearms Vol. One....my wife had one but did not collect New Bearcats so it went it away years ago, and at the shows we've seen them , and yes were a few dollars more.....the range noted by RENE was for the stainless KSBC4 in the #93-19538 to 93-21176 and he noted at first 270 ,maybe up to 300??? so you gotta look at any of these you come across as 99% of the Ruger collectors have NO clue what it is, UNLESS they KNOW and are looking for it...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There are a few blue SBC4's without the groove as well.
I don't think any guns in the first block of KSBC4 stainless guns had the groove.
