Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk .44 with 6 inch barrel. Mfg 1980. Has pearl replica grips. Good condition but has small amount of surface rust on backstrap.

FOR A

Glock 27. Generation 3 Like new.

My buddy has the Ruger. He wants to trade even. I know the Glock is worth $450-475. What is the Blackhawk worth?

The last Super I picked up was three years ago. It was in great shape and I gave $300 for it. I thought that was a really good deal. I don't think a Super with a little bit of surface rust is worth $450-475.

If you're looking for a straight $ for $ trade, you'll win getting the Glock. However, you can't really look at it that way. Look more at if the outcome will have you happier with what the gun is you have. Too many worry about the value aspect in a trade and pass up / lose out on getting what they want 'cause they were too stubborn worrying about $ for $.

Hey Blackhawk, before I miss it, congrats on your 10,000th post.

As the gentleman mentioned, you have to decide what suits you better, the Glock or the Super. I would get him to sweeten the deal a bit with ammo or perhaps a holster.

This is true, but Im always looking at ways to save $$$$. If I could sell the Glock for $475 I could probaly buy a new Blackhawk.

I would sell the Glock separate and then pick up a Blackhawk. If your friend is willing to throw in some cash with the deal you might be able to find a common ground.

If it was in 95% condition it might not be that big of a deal to part with it to a friend.

The NM Supers don't come with a 6 inch barrel. Maybe he has a custom gun, which may be worth more...No way to tell without more info and/or pictures.

Man you said it!

Good post!

:D

If you get what you want, and the other guy gets what he wants, and you're both happy with what you got, it's a good trade.

I once traded a stainless .44 Magnum Vaquero for a stainless 3" Ruger Police Service Six .357. I'm very happy with my Service Six. The Six is a keeper. That was three years ago and I have yet to see another 3" Service Six .357. I've seen a lot of stainless .44 Magnum Vaqueros. My two .44 Magnum Vaqueros are blue and I like it that way.
