I started wondering about something. Does anyone make a nozzle that will fit on a spray paint can so that it will spray vertically instead of horizontally? This would be a good thing when needing to touch up a ceiling.

If there is no such critter, will one of you guys please invent and market one?

Kilz makes "upshot", a ceiling primer in a spray can that sprays upward. Maybe one of those nozzles will fit on a regular spray can.

Hi someone used to make one an old friend use to have one it clamped on a spray can he is a long time dead so I cant find out who made it it was a cool contraption

Gramps

I do not remember the manufacturer but at one time I had spray cans of paint that you could turn the center section of the nozzle so you could spray either way. I'll go look a bit later and if I can find an old can will get back to you.

OK, so these adjustable nozzles on spray cans...I'm not talking about the fan spray pattern. On many spray paints you can take a pair of needle nose pliers and turn the little nozzle on the thing 90 degrees so it makes a horizontal pattern instead of a vertical pattern. I'm not talking about that.

Anyway "squint" found just what I needed. It was the Kilz Upshot. It sprays directly up from the can instead of forward.

I'd still like to know if you can buy nozzles like that to fit ordinary spray paint cans.

Recent experience with spray paint and nozzles seems they are often different even with the same brand. Some older and some newer cans wouldn’t match up. I trashed a bunch that had clogged nozzles I couldn’t clear or find a good nozzle that fit.

There are several sources for caps of different patterns, 'fat caps" , fans, thin lines... they're easy enough to find through various art supply places. They don't however sell they type you're asking about.

I have used these for texturing ceilings:

Other than that rollers.
