We'll be going on vacation to Colorado this coming summer and my Ruger 10/22 International would be a terrific companion. But the rifle will only fit in the back of our SUV diagonally. I don't want to stack luggage on top of it and I don't want to place the rifle (in its long case) on top of the luggage.

Hmmmm? What to do? I know! Buy a Ruger 10/22 Takedown!

I had a concept that I submitted to Ruger for their 50th Anniversary contest, but they didn't select my idea. So I made my own 50th commemorative and it will be heading out to Colorado with us this year!

I bought this one and put a Vortex Crossfire II scope on it, mounted in Leupold quick release lever rings:

Then I bought a Ruger/Talo walnut International stock (with the hand cut checkering and red butt pad) off Ebay and sent it to Mike Warren at http://www.1022td-woodstocks.com and swapped it onto my new Takedown:

Of course, I put one of the new BX-Triggers in it as well!

Now I'm all set!

TitanX,

Mike Warren is the real deal. He's a perfectionist and he knows what he's doing. Top notch work and a super fast turnaround time, with great communication. He custom fits the stock you send him to his own Ruger 10/22 Takedown so it simply swaps right onto your gun.

He also has custom stocks in really good looking woods for sale on his website. No need to ship him one if he's already got it for sale on his site.

It's terrific to deal with a true professional who really knows his stuff. The photos of his work on his website are a pleasure to look through. Click the link below and scroll through his work and you can see the outstanding quality Mike performs:
