Back in my younger and early Ruger days I was quite into the 10/22 customs and always seemed to have 3 or 4 completed guns and more being put together. They were fun to shot and 22 LR ammo was still in the $7-10 range and even more fun to come up with different looks and configurations. As I diminished that collection and sold off the guns and extra components I just could not let go of this walnut stock. My photo skills do not do it justice. It has sat in a soft case in the corner of many of my home offices as I moved around the country over the last 10-15 years. I tried looking back for a photo of this on a gun, but it turns out it was probably prior to my first digital camera so I may be off on how long I've been sitting on it.

Its time now to put a custom back together and get this on a nice Ruger. If anyone stumbles across a stainless receiver, or a complete stainless donor gun for a fair price, please let me know. I don't want to waste one of my monthly classified section posts on a WTB listing so I'm going to just post a picture of a beautiful custom stock here for everyone to enjoy.

I used to have the exact same design stock in a blue and grey laminate but set up for the 17 Mach II. I always referred to it as my "Civil War" 10/22. I think my younger brother was the only one that got it.

My local LGS has a factory (unmolested) stainless 10/22 w/maple or some blond wooden stocked carbine at his shop right now for $300 that they might ship to your FFL. Here's their # 816-380-1103 if the phone is same, from when they moved to other side of town. I've gotten a couple guns from them and they're fair.
