Interesting M77 configuration seen today

Went to the Hoover, Alabama gunshow today and saw a curious (to me) configuration on a tang safety 77. It was a .257 Roberts, but had the 24" medium sporter weight barrel as was used on the .25-06s as opposed to the light sporter typical to the 257s. It also had iron sights and rings (RS configuration). I've never seen that combination before - anyone else?

I think it’s called an ST. Round top takes different rings. The only 257 Roberts with sights.
Getting pretty hard to find!

It might have been an ST - it had a scope on it and I didn't pick it up, so didn't note for sure if they were Ruger or other rings. Tha things that really caught my eye were the sights and especially the barrel profile.

Some of them the box had RT and some marked ST

Because it is a long action, I believe the standard barrel length for the M77R, RS and ST in .257 Roberts was 24"

I had a 77R in .257 some years ago. It might have just been my eyes or the presence of sights on the one i saw at the show, but it just looked like a heavier profile barrel than the one I'd owned.

I think the later ones were 22" R's. I never really saw a RS.

Pretty sure the R I had was 22", and the light sporter barrel contour.
