Don't get me wrong...there's absolutely nothing wrong with a nice OM Ruger .45 Colt just as it came from the factory...nothing at all. But I thought a set of custom grips from Private's Custom Grips (http://www.privatescustomgrips.com/) would make it even better. He just happened to have a pair on hand made from Oregon Myrtle, so I ordered them. They came today.
Tell you what...I don't think these grips could fit any better if he'd had the actual grip frame there to work with. I like their little bit of extra thickness, too. This photograph doesn't really do them justice because the sun's reflection was making the grain a bit hard to see...but take my word for it, the grain is gorgeous.
I highly recommend this grip maker to anyone looking for custom grips at a fair price. You won't regret it.
