I bought a LCP custom in March. Ive posted here in the forum that I had a few issues. My front sight fell off and I lost it. Also I got a 7 round magazine that didn't want to seat into the gun.

I was away and busy until this week so I gave them a call. They didn't ask any questions other than to get me the info to send them the gun with their prepaid fed ex label.
I sent it this Tuesday and today I got a email that its already fixed and on its way home. Will get it in a few days.

Impressive. It will be about 7 days when it returns round trip and repair.

They just fix them if they break. I just sent back a 2 yr old SR45 and they covered the freight both ways.

ACTUALLY, believe it or not, RUGER has NO warrenty on their firearms.
And so it goes...

Hi,

I've always found their runaround about not offering a written warranty to be a bit odd. One claim they've made is it's too difficult/expensive to comply with Magnuson-Moss dictates. Give us a break! Simple, everyday $5 and $10 items have written warranties! And most every other production gunmaker I can think of, large or small, seems able to comply.

Methinks the "expense" of complying with M-M would come from having to institute a viable quality control program which should negate the need for most of these "Ruger has great customer service" posts we see. What those posts reflect is several decades of what appears to be a company culture based on the old adage "There's never time to to it right, but always time to do it over."

Real customer service, to me at least, means that when I buy something, the company sent it out ready to do the job it's sold to do right out of the box... and it will do so for quite a while without needing to be fixed.

could not care less about a written warranty from Ruger. the truth is they are one of the best at taking care of their customers in any industry. they just plain stand behind their product.

Hi,

Too many people don't get it, do they? Written warranty or not, a company's customer service department should be little more than a footnote IF they'd just do their job right the first time, now shouldn't it?
