Had some more range time today, brought out my SR40 & SR40c and all I can say is DAMN I love the "c". It feels like there is less recoil and muzzle pop from the "c" than the full size even with the smaller 9rnd mag. Very accurate, nice trigger, just a smooth operating gun. 200 rounds through it not one FTF or FTE. Simply love it.

I've always wondered how the full sized SR40 behaved in comparison to the SR40c. I suppose I always imagined the recoil was less due to the mass. I've always suspected the 40c has a very good recoil spring, perhaps a bit stiff to rack for some. The 40c was my first gun and it took many rounds to master it, more probably then a 9mm would have, but now that I have it down I'd never trade it for anything no matter what the caliber.

I'm glad your having good results as well. I'm around 2000 rounds into it and still waiting for my first malfunction. It kinda serves several roles well, I have great fun shooting it at the range, home gun, and carry. In summer in just a t-shirt I'm looking for something a bit slimmer though.

I bought my sr40c as a practical carry gun; not too big to carry, but big enough to carry a reasonable amount of a good self defense round. I haven't put too many rounds through it yet, and do find it quite "snappy". I was surprised at how much more recoil I feel with this gun than I do with my slightly larger P97, despite the P97 being a 45acp. I certainly don't think the sr40c is a fun range gun, but I hope to feel sufficiently proficient with it that I can carry it with confidence.

To me,.it feels wonderful. Coming for from the full size sr40 the recoil and snappy ness feel like a night and day reduction in favor of the "c".

I can tell you from my experience the .45 ACP has less recoil than the 40 s&w. My fathers 1911 has much less recoil than either the full size sr40 or the sr40c yet is a hair lighter and than the full size sr40.

Another 200 rounds through it today flawlessly. Absolutely love this gun

Sure love my 40c. Fun to shoot with a reasonably light recoil. Did have short strike issues that Ruger recently took care of for me. Haven't had any issues since I got it back.

Just put a 40 on layaway yesterday, really looking forward to putting some rounds thru it. From what I have read the 40 is a very nice weapon. My wife is even excited to use it... may end up getting her a weapon for herself so she does not hog this one...LOL

I shoot 6 9 mm of all sizes, 5 40 cal. and 5 .45 acp regularly, and the 9 mm have slightly milder recoil, but there is not a lot of difference in the 40 and 45 cal. weapons. Someone really sensitive to recoil might see some as being abusive, but for most people there should not be a whole lot of difference with any of them. The SR40c is a really great pistol, one of my favorites and my first choice for CC, it and my SR1911 are the ones that i shoot the most accurate with.

Got my SR40C Saturday, took it out yesterday. What a sweet gun!!! Recoil, IMO, was less than .45 or 9mm. Again, just my opinion! But I do love this gun!

I love my SR40c. My wife feels it's too snappy. I am looking at buying a Glock 19 or 23 through their Blue Label deal. Maybe I can get her more interested in pistols. She just shoots her LCR and complains about having to reload so much.... :)
