I was halfway looking around for a centerfire sihouette match Ruger and ran across an old, stainless, 2.75" Speed Six with a Tyler T and a nice IWB holster for not much money.

Speed Six was my first carry gun back in the '80's.

I remember how well it shot, so how could I resist?

Mailing funds tomorrow.

Their definitely hard to resist especially if the price is right. I have the 2-3/4" Security Six also with the Tyler T grip. For me the Sixes are the perfect size revolver. I would like to add a Speed Six to my small collection sometime.

Price was the deciding factor.

I look around at what Smith and Colt snubs are selling for, and I think a Speed Six is their equal if not superior.

Little bigger, little heavier, but it will put the lead on the money.

Some guys have all the luck.

I've seen several Service and Security Six models, but that DANG Speed Six keeps alluding me!

Congratulations (I think).... I shall not covet thy neighbors Speed Six.

Just kidding, I'm glad you found "a nice piece" of your past. :D

Congradulations, good score! I've had that same impluse for a while now. I wish I could find a nice Speed Six to make it happen. Any of the double action Six series are few and far between at gun shows in northern Virginia. I saw a stainless GF-84 (fixed sight Service Six, 4" barreled, 38 Special) in Fredericksberg but passed on it. It was fair to good cosmetically with Pachmyer "gripper" grips and marked "LEX PD". A few minutes with a Scotchbite pad would even up the finish and make a nice utility revolver. Kicking myself now.

Great score, I was at a gun show a few weeks ago and got extremely lucky. First table i went to the vendorhad a SS security six ,4" barrel adj sites. Great condition, and was willing to haggle, ended up getting that gun. Before leaving I figured I'll take one more walk around and while I was looking at other tables a older gentleman was trying to sell a SS speed six 2 3/4" to a vendor, the vendor offered him a real low ball price for it ,he declined his offer and walked away. I asked what he was looking to get for it and we made the deal. I know how you feel x2.

In the late 70s, I had the choice between a 4" Ruger Security 6 and a S&W Model 13. I chose the 13. I've always regretted not getting the Ruger.

Isn't it great when you trip over these things, great pick up for sure.

Payment sent yesterday, so by this time next week I should have it in hand!

My old friend, the brick Speed Six Schmidt house.
