Man my old lady is gonna kill me if she ever finds out what I just did  Started an earlier thread for suggestions on a 44 mag wheel gun to carry as backup during my annual moose hunt north of Fairbanks. Got some great advice but settled on a S&W 629 4" stainless wiff my old lady's blessing. Sold my Taurus Raging Bull 454 casull today and after the guy picked it up I started looking at my ammo stash and found about 250 rounds of 45LC and a new set of Lee dies for the LC! Nothing to shoot it with anymore though. Was at a local gun shop this evening and started looking at a NIB Blackhawk, blue, 7.5" barrel and fell in love with it. Took the $$ I got for the Bull and plopped it down on the Ruger  Oh well, pain is only temporary  :D What make matters worse is a couple of weeks ago I bought home a SA XD 45ACP bitone 4" and caught hell over that! These guns keep multiplying but at least my 1911's won't be lonely anymore. God save me! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  :D

It is usually easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission! Besides, put it in the safe when she aint there, and when she sees you take it out just tell her this old thing has been here forever.

Congrats on finding a ruger 45. And GOD may have mercy, BUT SWMBO will not! good luck, greg

Ya gotta get into being a gun girl.

Tell her you are working on her inheritance. Tell her the investments in guns can pay off big when you die. (So,, now you have a good excuse to buy MANY more to add to her inheritance.) Miss Penny says my collection isn't big enough yet,,,,,, yet,,,, for her to kill me! :D

Linda says "Hey, it's money in the bank!" The only snag is I gotta buy one for her every now & again! ;) It's tough duty, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!

You need a wife like mine. I own over 100 and if I see something I want I usually end up with it. Either she buys it or I do. After 35 years of training I've almost gotten her trained my way.

My old drill sergeant in the Army told us:

"Pain is good because it tells you that you're still alive"

Soon, you will be feeling fantastic!

you guys got me laughing my arse off.....
1. OK, my "wife" is Japanese (from Japan) and became a US citizen in 1976
2. Been married 42 years come this June
3. She used to be rabid anti gun but now loves trap and is a life member of the NRA
4. It's not that she doesn't like me having guns, she thinks I've got too many. I keep trying to tell her they are "multiplying" (she tells me I'm "baka" which means nuts or dumb in Japanese) and you can never have enuff guns
5. As for the old lady moniker, she don't care, believe me I'm telling the truth  she's actually my best buddy (well not really, my Harley is my best buddy, then her)
6. you probably already know she's not reading this or my previous post. If she did, the blood running down my face from the fry pan hitting my head for calling her "old lady" would obscure the computer screen, therefore preventing typing this post. :D

After 44 years of marriage she's seen a lot of guns come and go. Some have paid bills for the kids or got us through hard times by being sold. All in all she's the keeper. The guns are just stuff (but I'm glad she lets me have them).

You're fine... My wife made me the victim of financial infidelity in the tune of spending $17,000 that I was unaware of until the bills started coming in
I had to sell all my guns to pay bills and am still paying

You have to be careful about the "I got it for you" story. Back in the mid seventies, SHE sold a sweet little Browning A=5 20 ga. back to me. (Well, it was me or someone else as it was not what she wanted and was going to sell it to someone.) The bright side was, she gave me a better deal than the LGS did.

Luck, jack

I suppose I'm right in the middle. My wife enjoys shooting on the occasional weekend, and doesn't mind the guns, I just can't go crazy either...

Well my old lady would let me get away with buying the Blackhawk but she would draw the line if I brought home a POS Hillary and Wesson.

told her about the purchase last night.... she just stared at me, shook her head and walked off. The silence on the subject is what scares me!
