ID Question

OK, this may be an inexcusable lack of discretion, but from what I read here most of you guys are really knowledgable about all things firearm and I decided to throw it out in hopes that you don't throw me off.

Can someone tell me if the Remington Sendora rifle is identified by name on the receiver or barrell? My brother in law who is currently in Iraq purchased a used Sendora and had it sent to me. I just wanted to ensure that this is the gun he purchased. (he didn't send me the Ser no.)

Can't help you with that... but on top of this is the problem that I can't figure out how you would know regardless....

The Sendero is just a submodel of the 700, its changed a few times over the years. Current Senderos have 26" fluted stainless barrels with synthetic stocks. They are chambered in 264WM, 7RM, 7RUM, 300RUM & 300WM. In the past they may have had a plain stainless barrel, but were always with a synthetic stock and the long stainless barrel and chambered in the smaller magnums.
