Single-Sixer
It is one tof two MKIIs in stainless that I own and recently I had my gunsmith
who is normally superb at anything I ask of him, fit a Volquartsen Trigger and
matching sear to both of them. One appears to be AOK, everything works as
you'd expect despite it having a slightly less than 2# trigger. The other is puzzling,
outwardly it functions perfectly BUT for one thing it will not stay on safe when
the safety is applied. It will in several attitudes or positions, fall free off safe
about half way down to fire and allow a minor nudge on the trigger to fire off
a round. It will go into safe but often will not remain there though when on
fire it is fine. In the quiet in my shop away from house noises I can clearly
hear a minor rattle coming from inside the pistol so I assume that some small
part related to the safety functioning is out of place but when I study the
exploded parts view in the user's manual I can't seem to determine which
part it might be that is out of place. I will take it back to my gunsmith
week after next since I have other pressing issues this week and the next.
But anyone with knowledge of what it might be and who could enlighten
me on this will be hugely appreciated. To clear up in advance any thoughts
of this being the fault of my gunsmith is likely in error, he has done such
good work for me over decades that I won't bother to describe, suffice it
to say that I regard this as highly highly unlikely, if it is related to the
work he did I suspect this is a quite minor glitch and surely not his usual
quality of work.
