This weekend we had our semi-annual black powder matches in Saratoga Springs. While I won't know the results for a while (at least 100 competitors, I was number 50, over 3 days and a whole variety of matches) the medals I got today were from the June matches. The 1860 Army took bronze for 3rd place (25 yards offhand, one handed) and my little 1853 Enfield Musketoon won silver for 100 yards offhand. I think I actually did better today in some matches then before, time will tell.

Nice job. Very nice looking medal and that little long-gun ain't too bad either. 8)

Good shooting and better than last year. Hmmmmmmmmmmm I'm impressed.
I love that name, Musketoon. :D :D :D

This was a local event although there was some crossever with some guys that do compete in the NSSA. The next big match is in the spring so I am going to go through all of my other muzzleloaders (so far that little musketoon shoots the best but only with minie balls) and see what other matches I can compete in. If you wanted to you could literally compete all three days in so many different matches.

Nicely done and congrats! Great pics, too!

The grips on the 1860 are imitation micarta, they came with the gun when I bought it new. I am thinking about getting some with a bit more character like an American shield, but I kind of like these.

Good shootin Dave! My wife is from Saratoga Springs and my father-in-law lives there. We were just visiting in June. It is a very nice part of NY. Congrats again!
