By thunderstorms and tornado warnings. Got a lot of bad weather going on right now with two tornadoes suspected with one on the ground south of me. 70 mile an hour winds, but I'm kind of where the guy is which is not quite the bad spot.

A few years ago, a tornado went through the area, flattening a small town and doing a lot of other damage. It went within a mile of my house. I didn't know it was coming and was standing on my front porch when I heard what sounded like a train going by on the other side of my house. I didn't find out until later that that was the tornado.
I think most of us can't even imagine how powerful these can be.. .and hopefully we'll never find out.
About a year ago I worked on a guys chimney in Seneca S.C.... his house survived one of the biggest tornadoes reported... it actually picked up the brick ranch house beside his and set it back down 14ft away.... this is the one that hit the Borge Warner plant that night which was about a 1/4 mile long... nothing left but a concrete slab. They found the security guard 2 miles away.

Most went just south from us. Power out several times for most of the night and again this morning. Large pine limb down in the driveway but no other damage. 70mph winds reported

Man that sucks. I live in a relatively calm part of the country (Northwest) but it hasn’t always been that way. I still keep a couple boxes packed with my most valuable paperwork and items just in case the need arises that I have to leave in a hurry.
In situations like that the last thing I need to be thinking about is where everything is at and spending the time getting it together. Glad you’re not in the extreme hot spot of it. Stay safe!
