For those that wonder, Yeah we survived when it hit the Tampa, FL area, lots of rain and wind, lost power that night and JUST got it back on this evening; The road is awash here and there but passable. The yard is littered with branches, leaves and twigs plus the back yard fence is down in several areas. Aggravation, I cant the d**n chain saw to start; hasn't been used for a few years and I cant find the service manual. ALL the gas stations have lines a mile long waiting to buy gasoline for their autos and/or fill five gallon gas cans. Some stations are completely out of gas and either have the pumps wrapped in stretch wrap or bags over the nozzles.
hopefully tomorrow the crazy crowd will be gone.

If it has old gas in it dump it out ,put fresh fuel in it .
If it still wont start take off air cleaner and pour a little fresh fuel directly in carburetor , good luck and I am glad you are safe

Good to hear. I made through down here in the Lakeland/Winter Haven area. I'm actually Auburndale. Power was on within a couple blocks from my neighbor hood this morning, but not mine. Needed gas for my generator, & last night I was at WAWA & they ran out just when I reached the pump. Loves was open this morning. They were well organized in getting people to the pumps. Great job. And they said they were getting at least 2 fuel trucks a day. I guess because they have their own. ($2.99/gal, 87oct.) More stations were opened around noon with lines obviously. But they were open.
Just got power back on.

I'm in southern Hillsborough County. My power just came back on today. I'm super glad the weather was on the cooler side. A month ago, no power would have been unbearable.

Glad to hear you're OK. Good luck with the chainsaw. My friends in Sarasota say they never lost power. How strange is that?

Stores like Home Depot and Lowes sell premixed non ethanol gas for chainsaws. Might beat sitting in line. Anyway you can probably get into them now.

I hadn't used my generator in a couple years & it wouldn't start when I was prepping. Had to change the carburetor. Won't let it sit any more. Now I just have to get my 2 cycle weed eater/edger running. Let it sit too long also.

One useful thing about smartphones is the calendar/reminders. I set things like "print something on the printer" or "run the generator" to pop every few weeks or months…

Best chainsaw I ever bought was an electric one from Sears. It will start right up from years of being put up. Yea I have plenty of extension cords.

Hey guys & gals, just checking in. Got power back Friday evening. Dodged the bullet, well buttoned down, even better than for Ian. Hurricanes, we're good, storm surge.. three miles inland so we’re good. Tornado touched down 2 miles south and lifted 1/2 mile south of us. Next one touched down 2 miles north of us doing a lot of damage. Seen my share and they still scare the out of me. Pray everyone is okay.
