How to carry a GP100 3"

What kind of holster should I get to carry a GP100 3" without my pants falling down? I'm about to buy a Talo Clapp puppy. So I've been practicing with a Smith 65 3" and a Simply Rugged clam shell. Walk a city block and the pants are going down. I don't want a shoulder rig. I usually wear a suit jacket days and at night. No problems with an IWB.

I want the Talo, but I want to carry it. I do not need another range gun.

My secret is suspenders. Frankly, I have a difficult time carrying anything heavier than an LC9 or Airweight J-frame unless I wear 'spenders.

I use a Simply Rugged Sourdough. I like it a lot. No problems with saggy pants. I got the IWB straps with it. Works great IWB or OWB. A good belt helps a ton.

You may want to check out the belt threads in the conceal carry section. I carry a Vaquero 45 using a double thick belt from Cabellas.

I agree with what the others said. The solution to your pants problem is a GOOD BELT and/or suspenders. Holsters do not help your pants stay up.

Got a really good belt; suspenders won't do for me. I was wondering if anyone had tried an IWB which work for me with a 1911 since there is friction between holster and me.

If the IWB works for your 1911 then it should work for your GP100. Only difference is you may need an extra hole in your belt as the cylinder is a little fatter than the slab side 1911. I was really surprised how a thick (double thickness) belt made the difference in carrying a heavy gun. I had a nice Bianchi ranger style belt that I thought was a heavy belt. I still had to crank that belt pretty tight to stay put when carrying even my Commander. That belt had shrank (ok maybe I had too much pie cake) and decided to try a double thickness belt as I had read some had good luck with. The double thick belt I don't have to tighten near as much even when not wearing a gun to keep my pants up. It has a tendency to keep it's shape instead of trying to stretch where a single thickness belt does.

When I pack a revolver on my belt I use a paddle holster that allows me to wear a good belt but not necessarily a heavy belt. I carry my Glocks, Beretta and 1911 IWB with a variety of different maker holsters and the heavy belt is a necessity. One day I plan to find another Bianchi Pistol Pocket for the medium frame revolvers I like. They are hard to get.

A outside the waistband holster and belt combo from Galco or Mernickle should do the trick. :wink:
