How often do you shoot?

How many time a year do you shoot? Not counting hunting excursions when you are in the field anyway.
How many guns do you usually take when you go "shooting"?

Myself I try and shoot at least once a month and take 2 or 3 handguns not much of a rifle or shotgun shooter though I do own more than my share.

For me, the Pacific North Wet (AKA Washington) shooting season runs from about March to November. Range (which has a 550 yard line) is a 32 mile round trip from my residence. I shoot twice a week, sometimes 3 or 4 days a week. So far this month, the weather has been exceptionally nice and I have been to the range 12 times.

About 95% of my shooting is rifle. Black Powder cartridge and paper patch bullets comprise at 50% of my rifle shooting. When I shoot pistol, it is with a revolver.Usually take 1-2 revolvers with 150-200 rounds.

When I was working I went shooting almost every weekend but since retiring I only go maybe twice a month now. Sometimes I go to a rifle range and take at least two. Other times I go to the handgun range and take usually two.

Last couple of years only once or twice a month depending on the weather, I'd like to go more often but it seems life gets in the way. Doctors, grocery shopping, mowing grass, raking lawn spring and fall, all the other little chores in between, and watching the Packers eat up a lot of shooting time. Such is life. Once I retired I thought I'd have a lot more time to shoot but it seems it's not to be.

My range is about an hour away. I try and go at least 3 times a month if not every week. I get tired after about 2 hours. Not tired but I lose focus and my shooting gets much worse.

But I can't seem to go without 4 or 5 guns. I like to compare 22 pistols for example. My 2 Mark ii's to my Model 41. Or revolvers and compare different loads for say my 357.

I don't keep track. When I get the urge I step outside the house. Sometimes to pop a varmint, sometimes I'll set up a target. Might go several months without pulling a trigger. Some folks opine I should shoot more to "stay in practice". Perhaps if I competed I would.

I make and effort to shoot at least twice per month. My wife and I both shoot wax bullets in our basement range at least twice per month, sometime more often. We also shoot outdoors on our own shooting range that is part of our horse pasture on our North Ranch. We don't get to do this as often, but perhaps 8 or 9 times per year, depending on the weather.

Not as active as 20 years ago but I manage at least twice a week with handguns, usually just one box for each. Rifles I start in July/August for hunting rifles, every 2-3 weeks. What I consider play with rifles (.22, .223) several times a week. .22 from 20 to 75 yards. .223 from 150-300 yards. At least 100 rounds each.
My carry piece(s) at least a full mag every week, not included in above statement.
I can shoot on family owned land, right off my back porch, and have access to a private professional grade range 20 minutes from my door.
Hence the reloading. 20 years ago I shot a box of pistol rounds every day.
Yeah, I still like to shoot.

There is no way I could give an accurate answer. I own a range,, I shoot competition (USPSA) and whenever I want to or need to I just go.

I shoot semi-competitive, 3-Gun, etc.

But in the course of can average work week, probably 2-3 times a week. I find basic range time very therapeutic and great at relieving the stresses of running a business. Myself and several other local businesses owners are considering starting a shooting team.

Once or twice a month, 100 rds-RNV Talo 45 ACP mostly. Just like the hades out of it- relaxing and don't have to chase brass.

Shoot zombie targets and practice the "John Westley Harding" card game mostly.

Usually at least once a week. As far as what I take, nothing. I shoot at home so I just carry out what I want and if I change my mind I'll go in and grab it. This is one of the main reasons we bought the acreage.

3 or 4 times a month. More often when hunting season approaches. I'm a bit seasonal. When the weather starts getting cool, the rifles come out of the safe. When the weather starts getting warm, it's time for the handguns. Dead of winter I mostly reload, with some trips to an indoor range which I don't like much.

Am not currently competing in anything nor in any leagues or clubs. Guess I take something out in the backyard a couple of times a week. Seriousness varies.

My wife and I are both active shooters, mostly CAS. We had a slow summer this year, and I don't really keep track of range trips. However, I have been reloading since April 1996, and I keep accurate records. My current total reloading talley for Annie and me is 140,000+ cartridges, covering 4 pistol calibers and 6 rifle calibers.

Not included is .22LR and muzzleloading rifle, pistol, and C&B revolver outings.
