How much do you shoot?

I shoot 300 to 500 rds a month give it take try to get out 2 times a month

I shoot probably 200 rnds a week mostly 22 lately off the back deck. about twice a month or more during warmer weather I will get larger handguns out. about once a month I will shoot rifles or shotguns depending on season. once it is below 20 degrees I don't usually shoot

At least once a week without fail, twice if I can swing it. 150 to 250 rounds each time depending on the caliber. Handloading keeps me from going broke from buying factory ammo. About 95% of my shooting is with handguns, rifles every 2 or 3 months & a shotgun 2 or 3 times a year. I have many more handguns than long guns & keep the handguns in equal rotation. I hate the idea of leaving them sitting in the safes without them getting any work. I don't own any Safe Queens, I shoot every gun I have.

I’m with you Fanman, I shoot 22, 380 and 9mm at least twice a week, sometimes as oft as four times a week because I really enjoy it and want to stay highly proficient. I reload 380 and 9mm so that keeps my costs down but I’m sure I shoot more than a thousand rounds a month, probably close to 1200. Due to reloading, my costs down runs about $250 per month plus $30 per month to belong to the range. That’s an affordable hobby for a retired guy.

Not as much as I used to. Back in the 70s I was single and a deputy sheriff (corrections officer) I used to cast reload and shoot 300-500 rds of 38s every week. Then I went back in the Navy and only shot occasionally. I shot some handgun competition back in the 80s, never very consistent, just for fun. Since I retired in the 90s I have mostly shot just to test reloads and sight in rifles until a couple of years ago when a bunch of guys at my local club started a very informal 22 shooting match. Once a month during the summer we have a bring what you want to shoot rifle and we shoot a variety of courses. Since then I always have a 22 rifle in my truck and if I am going past the club I will stop and shoot a box or two getting ready for the next match. Currently I am using a 1953 Remington 513T and a 10/22, depending on the course of fire.

I have always managed to get to the range (behind my barn) at least once a month to stay proficient with what ever handgun I was currently carrying, just a box or two.

As I get older, 76, I don't enjoy shooting in the cold or rain like I used to.

Not sure why I developed such an interest in guns. Never saw my Dad hold one. Grandpa lived with us and he had a single shot .22 and single shot 12 gauge, and he let me shoot each occasionally. When I was about 15 I bought my first gun magazine and I really liked the Single action Colts and Rugers. After I got married I really got interested, constantly buying gun magazines. Then I bought a few and got into trapshooting and I shot weekly. I hunted mainly because I liked guns and liked to shoot, killing things wasn't high on my list of enjoyment. Fast forward to age 62 and I had retired. We lived in the country and I would shoot some virtually every day. I'm now 80 and shoot some but not nearly as much, mostly only in good weather, not too hot and not too cold, but not a day goes by that I don't handle several of my guns. Reading these forums gives me the itch.

It can get as expensive as you want it to be. There is some pricey equipment out there if you really get into it.

For many years, I shot at least once a week. Now I'm lucky to shoot once every couple of months.
Life changes, and now that I'm shooting alone, it's difficult to overcome just a plain lack of motivation. :(
