Hornady 8th Edition Reloading Manual

Have been reading some reviews of this new version of the Hornady Manual lately and saw it offered at Midsouth so added it to my order.

It seems in the last few years I have been using quite a lot of Hornady bullets and my Hornady Manual is several versions old at this point. The reviews spoke of Hornady revisiting a lot of calibers in this edition and adding quite a few new calibers as well.

I have perused several calibers I load for and it would seem that indeed there has been a new look at things. It is over a thousand pages and that is a lot of information; they seem to have tried some of the newer powders on some of the classics and that is a nice addition.

Think this will be real helpful where I am using so many of their bullets should help to maybe take a new look at some of my loads.

As always,, I find my reloading manuels to be invaluable. I was digging into some stuff the other day,, (still unpacking stuff from my move 6 months ago,) and dug out a few of my older manuels. I have the Hornady #3 all the way up to the 7th. I'll be adding the 8th soon!

Contender I think you will enjoy the new edition. One thing nice about this new manual is Hornady gives a very detailed description of all their bullets and the recommended uses. Hornady has added a good number of new bullets and it is nice to have this information at hand.

Speer and Hornady are my go to manuals as I use a great deal of their bullets, both of them use a great selection of powders for various calibers and give a great start on working up new loads.

Most important, have a very Merry Christmas and great New Year and that for sure includes the rest of the forum members.

How much do "they" want for the new Hornady #8 manual?
I do not go for the new calibers so, I do not buy every manual that comes out.

I purchased the Hornady Manual at Midsouth for $27.05 + shipping.

They seemed to have the best price from a quick search of gun sites.

I must be a manual freak. :shock: I have all the Hornady's from #1 through #8 which I bought just yesterday. I have all the Noslers, Sierra's and all the Speers except #1, #3 and #4. I have a couple of earlier Hodgdens, some of the later Ideal and Lymans and the Barnes #4.
Sometimes those older books pay off. Years back a friend got hold of a 50 pound keg of 5066 powder but no data. I gave him what he needed and he gave me 5 pounds of the stuff. 8) I shot it up in my .45 ACP. Wish I could get some more of that powder. I feel one can never have enough loading manuals.
