I want to carry my SP101 5 shot .357 with the 2.25 barrel inside my truck console. Any ideas for a non leather holster so it doesnt bang around inside the console?

An inexpensive inside the pocket holster would do the trick. I'm carrying my J frame magnum in a GrovTec model as we speak. Uncle Mikes, Blackhawk, and others make for the small revolvers. I use the GT models because they are readily available, inexpensive, and fit the handguns I use. My other one has a SCCY 9mm in it. Bob!! :mrgreen:

I been looking at an Uncle Mike's Off-Duty and Concealment Nylon, size 0. I dont like the idea of leaving the muzzle or chamber exposed to pick up trash and maybe cause a jam.

Sounds like you need a quality pocket holster that fits your firearm almost like a regular holster. For my Ruger SP-101 2.25" I purchased a Desantis Super Fly pocket holster. This model secures the revolver very well. Give it a look.

I agree. Visited a gun store yesterday and looked at different models. Most were open which could mean stuff getting into the muzzle. Ended up ordering one of these:

Akdress, that is what I had in Mind. Not only will it serve to protect your revolver in the console, but you can use it as a carry option. I sold and used UM holsters, belts, and accessories during the 80's and 90's to all of my LE buddies, usually complete tactical outfits. One of my most discreet vertical shoulder holster rigs for a P226 is an UM. UM decided to go off shore with their manufacturing(Vietnam) and knowing so many vets, I could not support them any longer. Now, Blackhawk and Grov Tec have taken up their role with US made products, so I support them. Bob!!!! 8)

Your kidding right? Not only am I licensed to CC but our state allows anyone who can legally purchase a firearm the right to carry it concealed inside their vehicle. No carry permit required. Our state considers our vehicle an extension of our home.

NO, I wasn't kidding, because your profile doesn't indicate where you live. Many states, like Commiefornia, don't allow console carry.

I like the uncle mike's sidekick nylon holsters. They work well for me both IWB and OWB and for hunting. Pistols and revolvers alike. Well made product for the price.
