Hey guys. I'm going to be buying a Ruger GP100 6" in stainless here soon and am stoked! I want a simple, leather holster for it.

I see Triple K makes one that is exactly what I'm looking for, except I absolutely hate how the holster is angled!

I have the same holster for my Ruger Speed Six and it is so annoying. The angle makes it so the grip sits forward, and it is really awkward on the wrist to get a grip on the revolver.

(Does anyone know why Triple K makes their holsters like this by the way?)

So now I'm hunting for a holster just like this, but one that sits straight up and down. I don't want my revolver to sit at any angle, but instead want it so the grip is straight up, and the barrel is pointed straight down.

Do any of you know of a holster like that? Appreciate the advice!

You might like a Diamond D, if budget isn't an obstacle and you're willing to wait for it to be made. They have other styles also. I have several in this, and other styles. Can't beat the quality.

Try lobogunleather.com and see if they will make you exactly what you want. They do great work and made a lefty OWB for my son's SR40C that looks really good.

I have a couple triple k holsters for my Ruger revolvers. I like them a lot. They are nice folks, so you can call them to see if they have anything without the canted belt loop.

I have S&W models 686 and 629 in 6 inch barrels. I use the Galco DAO holsters. They can be switched from strong side to crossdraw. The crossdraw works pretty good for the longer barrels. When wearing strong side, it's a long draw upwards to get that 6 inch barrel clear of the holster. Also on the crossdraw, it doesn't interfere with drawing when sitting down.

Picked this up from Camp Curry Leather a few years back. He sells on Etsy, great quality, reasonable prices.

Thanks all! For some reason I wasn't getting notified of responses and just saw all of these.

I ended up ordering the Ruger Triple K holster from ShopRuger.com. Just got delivered today and the design is exactly as pictured on the Ruger site! Love the non-angled belt loop on the holster.

Only thing that was different was that it came much lighter in color than the listing showed. The leather was nearly a khaki light brown color, and was very glossy.

I forgot to take a before photo, but I took it to the workshop and wiped it down with acetone to remove the glossy coating. Once through that, I wiped the holster down with neetsfoot oil, then heated it up with a heat gun and put a few coats of mink oil on it. That brought out a deep orange-brown color, and also gave the holster a softer finish, as well as giving it a lot of character as it now showed the curves and stretch marks of the leather when it was molded to a GP100, making it look much more natural and less plasticy. Really happy with it!

GP100 fit is super tight, but is already loosening up. I like a tight holster, but just want it loose enough so that it doesn't pull my belt up as I draw the revolver. Will let it sit in the holster overnight and I'm sure it'll be perfect. Thanks again guys!
