When I draw my blackhawk from it's simply rugged home I get alot of leather fuz on the front sight and the erh screw. Does it need to be broken in? I usually use kydex or horsehide for holsters and have never had this problem before.

I've done a lot of holster work over the yrs. and like Snowproof rubbed into the leather. El Paso used to recommend it for their rigs. Used on the inside, reaching down to get it along the sight channel will reduce the amt of fuz you get, but nothing will eliminate it as the leather wears. Just part of the game...Rodfac

Thanks, is snow seal close enough?
I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. SnoSeal is a brand name for a beeswax-based leather sealant. It's good stuff, but will leave things a bit waxy.

I like Lexol cleaner and preservative, but it doesn't protect the leather to the same level SnoSeal does. The latter is really for use on boots and things that are exposed to moisture.

I'd just keep reholstering my gun until the little leather bits stopped coming off, myself. Or not worry about it. I have a Simply Rugged for my S&W 624, and haven't noticed this problem.
