I'm having trouble getting the search function to work, so I'll ask here...
Who has Hogue grips on their single-action revolvers, and what do you think of them?
I have no complaints about the Hogues I have on a couple double-actions, so I was thinking about ordering a pair in smooth ebony, for my stainless New Vaquero.
Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!
Most of us around here prefer wood, stag, ivory or other stuff. However, some folks do enjoy the Hogues on a SA.
DUe to the physics of how a SA revolver recoils & sits in the hands,, most find the Hogues are not the best for good shooting. BUT,,,,, it will all come down to what fits YOUR hand and how YOU shoot.

Are you talking about the oversized rubber grips or the cowboy ,single action grips? If the latter I have a set of white micarta that I bought a few years ago and they are very nice.Probably some of the toughest grips I have on any of my single actions!

I can't say for the walnut grips but the micarta grips I bought from Hogue are thicker than many single action grips. They fit the grip frame very nicely.

I did buy the rubber grips for my SBH, did not like them at all. However , I did buy the cowboy action wood grips for the SBH and really like them, I have ordered a 2nd pair for a 2nd SBH. They have a hand filling feel.

Have Hogue rubber grips on all my nonBisley single actions. Stops the gun squirming around with warm loads and my pinky is not an orphan. I only wish they made a set for the new flat tops.

Well, I just ordered the ebony wood, Hogue grips. I can work them down if they're too thick. Thanks for the responses.
I'll let ya know...

I like the Bear Paw Grips as they are thinner at the bottom and thicker at the top. Fit my hands very well. As contender said though grips are " incredibly "personal". I would never ever never put "rubber baby buggy bumpers" on mine for example :) .

Let us know how your wood Hogue grips work.
