Hogue Grip Modification

Hi all,

A while back I read some where that there was a way to modify Hogue monogrips so they could fit the internal lock Ruger Blackhawks. Does anyone have an idea what gets modified? Thanks.

You have to have a recess inside to allow for clearance for the lock. I have not done it or seen it on the Hogues,,, but that's the main issue.

The recess is not an issue. New Model Blackhawk grips are wider than the lock. The problem comes from the strap that holds the grip in place. The adapter strap needs a little pin that pushes the lock slightly up. I will try to post pictures later in the week.
