Can any body tell me anything about these pistols ?
Thinking about buying one in 22-22mag,any help appreciated.......
I know they ain't no Ruger but .............

For the price, I think they're ok. But they're not up to the quality of Ruger. I personally would spend the extra money for a Ruger.

Buy a Ruger convertible. They are really inexpensive, go to the classifieds here and buy one used. Your great grandkids will give it to their kids. Indestructible perfection.

I was in a gun store on Saturday and a guy was buying his wife a Heritage Roughrider 22. I heard him say that the wished the Rugers had a safety like the Roughrider.... :?

I agree.

Best purchase you can ever make for a revolver in .22. It'll shoot any type of .22 out there. Literally. I've shot .22 long, short, and everything in between. You just can't go wrong by doing right..

The best safety you can ever have is the one between your ears.. He should know that if he owns guns.. Just common sense to me..

Safety, on a revolver? Really? Wow! The safety is don't put your bugger picker on the trigger. Good God how would that come out of someone's face. Again, Wow!.. Don't ever buy anything but a Ruger for a convertible .22 revolver. Easy Peazy.

I have not owned one of the Ruger convertibles but I did own a Rough Rider for a while. It was okay for what it was. I bought it because I wanted a cheap .22. I sold it a few years ago because there was another gun I wanted more but while it wasn't a heirloom piece it did work.

Welcome to the Forum!

What most folks above are alluding to, is that in the long run,,, you'll get a better deal by purchasing a Ruger,,, even a used one over the Heritage. If your funds are limited,,, put them away & get more $$$ & your wait will be rewarded.

I can say that I have actually fired one----In my opinion is is worth just about what you would pay for one. With that in mind I think I own 8 or more Ruger single sixes and I have no doubt that my grand kids, or even their grand kids will still be using them long after I am dust in the wind. Save your money and step up to a life long tool.

Stay as far away from them as possible. I use to have a friend that often had the table next to mine at a gun show so I could watch his table when he walked the show for deals. He always seem to have a couple on his table because they were cheap and there was always someone who would buy a cheap gun. About 80% of them had loose barrels. You could wiggle them with little effort. I don't know if they are pressed in or what but they felt as if the would fall out if you shook them too hard. Anyway, I wouldn't want one even as a wall hanger.

...we'll see what happens.........

Sounds like you're still on the fence.

I remember back a lot of years, and broke. I tried convincing myself that the really cheap guns might be okay. RG, Rohm, Arminius, even early Taurus comes to mind. They might last 50 rounds, 500 rounds, or maybe might not work at all. Heck of a chance to take to rationalize saving a few bucks. These guns are crap.

WAYNO.

I owned one. I got rid of it. It's the gun equivalent of the old Chevy Chevette. Doesn't do anything really well but, hey, it's cheap. If you can wait and come up with the extra money, get a Ruger Single Six.

Had one for about a year. Would not shoot POA and trigger spring broke 3 times. Sent back every time and the results were unacceptable. I disassembled it and trashed it. That was 10 years ago and I will not even look at one now. Perhaps they improved quality and service, I will never buy another. Got burned once.
Save your $ and buy a quality revolver.
Had a similar experience with a Tradition muzzleloader. Best group was above 5 inches at 50 Yards. Sent back 2 times and they claimed it was fine and that was normal. Gave it away. Won't buy another Tradition muzzleloader again.
I tend to stay away from cheap firearms, but not mid range ones. Paid $229 for a Taurus PT111 that shoots better than my Springfields @ twice the price.

Well here's the scoop,I had a Single Six one of the older ones 6 1/2 " barrel fixed sights several years ago.

Had a guy that wanted it a lot more than I did so I sold it $$$$$$$

Now I saw one of the RR 3 1/2" barrel birds head that looked pretty good and thought it would be kinda neat to carry in my

waders while wading the river, but finding out how that stupid safety works i guess I'll just carry my MKII or my Walther

Only thing neither will cycle shot shells.......

1022, shot shells just don't have the chamber pressures to cycle the bolt. I only shoot shot shells in my revolvers, whether it be .22 or in my .44 mag.. As I mentioned earlier, keep an eye on the classifieds here for a OM or NM single six. You will have a revolver that will or could be a family heirloom. I own around 10 including an old flatgate. My heirs will be in love with me once I finally kick the bucket. Don't skip on quality.

I'm really having a hard time putting the Term " Rough Rider" and the history of the Rough Riders with a 22 caliber handgun of any type...

But then I have to confess I'm not a fan of the single sixes either.... too much work to load and the one I own does not shoot that well. But I do realize that the late Bill Ruger did make a bunch of money selling single action 22s....

I bought one new about 10 years ago , junk in my opinion .It would not fire either cyl. , had to send it back two times and it is still not 100 % . take the others advice and get the single six . It was the only cheap gun I ever bought but a good lesson learned .

Well I think I have made a decision, what I wanted was something to carry while wading the river this spring sooooo I think I'll go with a Smith 642 38 spl and load it up with shot shells .......
