Wife has been wanting a Suncast resin 'she-shed' for years... she has a small 'junker' these days and has outgrown it. Bought one from Home Depot.com because they had none available and the nice young helper, placed the order on the website for us. Was delivered within a day or two; big sucker (for us OLD people)...6'x5' and 7' high. Was going to have the landscape guy put down a cement platform and I was going to do the assembly. I went on the website and printed the complete assembly manual. After a week or two, I decided to open the huge box and pull out the floor panels to see how many Tapcon screws I would need. Well, the manual showed ALL the parts and hardware so, I was able to clearly determine that the box contained only half the parts for a complete shed. One floor panel vs. specified two; one DOOR vs. two; 4 side panels vs. 7; one peak vs. 2; two roof panel vs. 4. Big bummer; wife very disappointed. HomeDepot.com picked it up the day after will called; refunded the price and "working on" the shipping $$$. Never expected to see THAT happen; 1/2 a shed .

Miss Penny asked me a bit over a year ago about buying one of the storage sheds at Lowes & such. The one she was looking at,, was listed at $1300.00. And it was "cheaply " made,, and would still require a floor & base & final painting.
I told her, that if she wanted a REAL solid shed,, and would buy the materials,, I'd build her one. Well, I did.

And overall,, it cost a bit under the $1300.00 AND has a good floor, solid base, and is more sturdy than anything they offered. She is VERY proud of her "She Shed!" And one of our DILs got her a custom sign for Christmas for it.

Yeah,, it cost me time & work. But she's worth it, and especially seeing how happy she is with a better quality shed.

After several decades my old aluminum shed finally needed replacement. Actually it was still weather tight, but I redid the entire backyard and it looked pretty bad. I replaced it with a slightly larger Rubber Made.

The old shed sat on a concrete pad. It had a steel frame on the bottom on which you put your own plywood. Found out why it looked a little off kilter when I was able to pull the frame apart with my bare hands.

This new shed just sits on the floor so no raised area for drainage and it looked like water could flow right up into it. .The new shed was set on 18"x18"x2" pavers. The pavers were set with a gap between them to facilitate drainage. Our recent rains proved the wisdom of my plan. Also good to note is that it didn't leak one iota.

Assembling the shed took only a few hours. But I learned a lesson. I started in the morning when it was cold. Getting the parts to connect was a bit of a hassle. I ended up running some errands and finished in the afternoon. By then the panels had warmed up. Things went together slick as butter.

The only thing I would have done differently if I could was put in a larger shed. Amazing how those things fill up and that was after I got rid of a bunch of stuff from the old shed.

A couple times a year I go and play cards with some friends from my teen years... but my best friend from back then is living in the slave quarters of a plantation for free owned by anther childhood friend and it seems I got his wife's dander up buy building a small fire in the yard in a wash tub last year and have been banned from the place perminatly.... So my buddy and some others are looking at putting a building up beside what was my families pond which now belongs to my little brother. We've pretty much decided on a prebuilt one... with metal roof .... we can run electricity to it and now I've decided because of the the location (out at the end of no where) we will put one of those AC/Heat window units in but have it removable and easy and quick to install.

We had a similar experience with a patio storage unit. We ordered it, and it showed up in a giant box that looked like it could fit a small car! When we opened it up, we found half the parts missing—definitely a letdown. I ended up calling customer service, and they were super helpful. They arranged for a pickup and issued a refund, no questions asked.

It reminded me of Top Grade Enterprises; they really stand out for their solid customer service. It's great to see companies that prioritize making things right.

Some of those 'shed in a box' things are really crappy. We bought one from Menards to use for an outhouse at the north farm. They had one assembled on display so I could see just how good/bad it really was. Door fit and seal isn't the greatest but overall not a bad unit. Of course no floor but our intent was to build a raised platform with treated plywood deck for it to sit on anyway.
Son's new job and all that turmoil upset those plans and building is still sitting in the box.:(

It happens. When I ordered the grill guard/winch mount for my truck, I had to wait a few weeks for it to come in. When it arrived, I went to the off-road accessory store to pick it up. They loaded the two boxes into my truck, and I drove them home. At that time, we had just started a major renovation and roof replacement on our house, so I put the boxes in the garage since there was no time to install them on the truck, and they sat for a couple of months. When I got around to installing it, I found about 1/3 of the parts were missing. I called the off-road accessory store, and they checked their back room. Surprisingly, there was a third box of parts for my grill guard/winch mount sitting on their shelf. I was kind of surprised that it was still there since, in most businesses like that, if they have something someone ordered and didn't pick up, they'll usually send it back to the factory.
