Help with WiFi Booster

Looking for suggestions on a simple wifi booster that will give me better signal from the house to the adjacent detached garage. Its just not quite strong enough to operate the phone or tablet. The laptop just barely works on it. I have 2 bars out of 5 on the signal strength. Looking for a simple inexpensive solution to use only occasionally while in the garage working

Your floor plan is going to have an effect on the efficiency of a booster. I have a 2400 sqft house and use a Netgear booster which provides signals throughout.

Placement of your WiFi router is one way.. make it centralized, and as high as you can get it. Amazon and Walmart have extenders that plug in the wall for $20-80.

I have been using a netgear ex7000 for 2 years. Have a remote garage 70 yds away from house. I have ran a laptop / TV / security camera through the extender with only 1 reboot necessary in that 2 years.
