help with my grip problem

The other day I was shooting a Super Redhawk and I realized that I didn't like the way it felt in my hand. No disrespect to the gun, but I have these big wide palms and they just don't fit the gun very well. The whole job goes to the middle finger and the ring finger. BTW, that gun had wooden grips not rubber.

I don't have this problem with Ruger's single action revolvers(wooden grips also). They feel a lot better in the hand and I feel like i have more control over the gun. They seem to be rounded at the top while the double action one have a flat shelf like top on their top.

I really like double action better for carry, and I'm considering getting the 44 mag Redhawk with the 4 inch barrel as a carry gun. The problem is that the Redhawk's handle appears to have even less to hold onto than the GP100 or the Super Redhawk. And as I said I'm not grabbing the SR well now. I can handle the GP100 well but i wanna carry the bigger round.

So is there a fix? Is there a manufacturer who makes a grip that will turn the double action handle into what the single action handle is? Do they make an extended grip of anything that will help with this issue? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I mount Pachmayr Decelerators on my Redhawks (once five, now two).

They allow me to use the finger grooves not as they were intended, but to 'wedge' my hand up into the grip.
This 'high' grip gives me sufficient control for fast DA shooting, ala USPSA/IPSC.

Your results may vary (but they're inexpensive enough to experiment, ay?).

You've got to check out Badger grips----I put a set of walnut boot-2 finger grips on my Alaskan---I couldn't believe the difference it made---great product/great guy/great price
