HELP IDENTFIYING A CARTRIGE PLEASE

Hey Folks, my gun smith buddy has found some on these rounds and we don't know what they are. The bullet mikes out exactaly at .440 at the case mouth or just a tad over 11 MM and is exactaly 1.250"'s long or32 MM and is and is fully rimmed and the rim mesures .520 or 13 1/2 MM wide and the case has has a slight taper .It looks to be copper washed and is primed with a large primer ,larger than a .45ACP and it has a crimp that has 2 spots that arn't crimped that are .85/100ths long ,180 degrees away from each other .The case head is marked K 4 3 on one side and V I Z on the other .I inculed some pics and it's sitting next a 230gr .45 ACP .Any help would be greaty appercated.The pics are a bit blurry ,but there the best I can get with what I have . I think it might be a .44 Russain but the K usualy stands for Kurtz which is Shoth in German so I really don't know .I do know that it's NOT a Kurtz from the Strumgevuar 44 German Assult riffle .I'm pretty sure it's a revolver round but from what?

Thanks Hugh, I mentioned that to to him to ,but since it was in a link belt with several spent german 8 MM's cases I wasn't sure .Do you know what grain the bullet is? it feels a lot heaver than the 230 gr .45 ACP ,I can see why it would be a good manstoper .

Looks like 265 gr @ around 700 fps was the standard load for that cartridge, from what I can find.

I have a cartridge I found in an old trapper's shack up in BC that looks just like that headstamped .455 Colt... :wink:
