Just the storage and then the cost! How much are magazines these days? $20 each?
Get them on sale for $10 each.
I'm sure that my 75 or more 1911 mags would really give you pause.

You're looking at it through the lens of 2025.1000 rounds, and a gun. But they don’t match each other.
What would happen if they ban free speech on colleges too?
Situational Awareness. Sorry.I’m trying to follow this conversation and you keep using the abbreviation SA
What does SA mean? I tried looking it up and found Sexual Assault but nothing that fits the context of what you are saying.

"But what do you need 50 magazines for?" - What do you need an AR for? What do you need more than one gun for? Seriously, you are going down that road?Well he shouldn’t have had ammo delivered to his dorm room.
But what do you need 50 magazines for? 50??? That’s just a lot of space. Do you switch them up so they get equal time?
My coworker was floored that anyone would have six magazines until I said that I have about fifty for my ARs. That blew his mind. "Why?!"
They are adults. Ever heard of shootings on disarmed campuses? No one here can tell whether anyone is mature enough for firearms. All coeds should conceal carry.I’m not against guns on school grounds. I think teachers should be taught to use guns and carry them in schools.
But a case of 9mm to a school dorm? No. Not at all.
And no, I don’t know where the happy medium is. But there are too many drunk college kids in dorms. Those are the kids that don’t need easy access to loaded weapons.
Yes, they do, but I still think it is not right. And yet., many states prohibit carrying in a bar.
Are you saying all universities are private property?I fully agree. Unfortunately many states blatantly infringe on the 2A in various ways.
When it gets to private property — like the property of a private university — it gets murkier. A property owner does have the right to exclude firearms on their private property — even if it’s idiotic.
While having and carrying shouldn’t be a crime one could certainly face consequences for carrying on private property (ie getting kicked out).
You kind of open a can of worms when you start restricting property owners rights.

Of course, this brings me back to the constitution. I cannot find anything in the 2nd Amendment that says the right to keep and bear arms can be infringed at universities. Some are, some aren't. However, even public universities can restrict access and set their own rules just like military bases. I attended two universities and one college, all three had a published policy that anyone who did not have business with the school could be told to leave the campus. The only people I've seen kicked off a campus were people who were trying to disrupt the school activities.
When a soldier goes on patrol, how much ammo do they carry?
gramps
The 1966 U. of Texas Tower “sniper” Charles Whitman was pinned down for about half of his murderous rampage by students shooting back with the deer rifles they kept in their dorm rooms & nearby apartments.
I watched that firsthand myself from a distance of about 300 yards while crouched behind a car.
I didn’t know about the students shooting back.

This is the important point. One of my clients recently moved their office kitchen operations into a nice building in downtown of a big Southern city, Nice place during the day, but at nighttime walking to the parking lot can be sketchy.I am too.
If the college though has a ‘no guns’ policy it’s probably enforceable and one can get kicked out of school for it. For a ‘normal’ student that would mean one abide by it, find a different school, or figure a way around it. In the latter case one needs be covert and use high SA to ensure one isn’t caught.
I worked for an employer for a time who had a ‘no guns’ policy. I carried anyhow but am pretty certain if found out I could have been fired without recourse. No big deal (one can always find a new job) but it did mean I needed to be prudent and careful while CCWing. Wasn’t the only one carrying there fwiw but there are stupid lawyers and stupid employers out there and I can either spend all my life fighting them or just find a way around their idiocy.
Most carry in ‘gun free’ zones knowing that more than 85% of mass shootings happen in these areas. It’s idiotic they exist at all but fighting them takes time. I can’t keep other people from doing dumb things but that doesn’t mean I need get drawn into their stupidity.
It’s just when doing so one need be very covert and conceal well.
After the return fire started, it sounded like a Vietnam war firefight. If you believe the movies, all sorts of people were shooting back.
Well, I took the U.S. Constitution to apply to anywhere in the United States. I do not have to do business in any establishment that infringes on that right. Even private universities get some money from the government. The constitution doesn't say that you can infringe on the 2nd Amendment in your living room but yet you can.
There have been people killed on military bases who might have lived had their right to keep and bear arms had not been infringed upon. Some are, some aren't.
