Got a great deal on this so pulled the trigger. I am overly impressed with all aspects of the Guide Gun. Feels and shoots great. First time out I shot 10 rounds with open sights to see how they printed. Dead on for me.
I added a 2-10x42 Tract scope and shot a few groups. I had factory loads with 200 and 225 grain SST's. The 225's averaged about 1.75 inches and the 200's about 1.25 inch average.
Recoil really surprised me. I was shooting this and my American 308 free handed at a steel gong and the 308 seemed to kick more. No doubt due to being lighter weight, but also the 338 muzzle brake really works well.
