Hard not to be discouraged

We visited some old Army friends recently, a couple who are well educated and successful and with good hearts. And they both are ardent supporters of Hilary Clinton. Despite all of the evidence pouring out about the crookedness, deception and venality of Hilary and her woman-abusing husband, they both are excited to support her for the Presidency. An even more recent visit with some family members devolved into their impassioned support for MORE open border policy to help all those "poor, hardworking undocumented immigrants who need our help and support". And finally, just yesterday having an in-law who I used to think was rational say that anyone who opposes gay marriage and all that is being demanded by the gay/transgender community must be bigots and homophobes or worse. I know I am getting older and crankier, but it is hard not to be discouraged by where this nation and this society are going. Many of my relatives dismiss anything I might tell them because, after all, I am that crazy relative who believes in the 2nd Amendment and actually is a member of the NRA! I truly fear for the future that my grandchildren are to inhabit and that this country will not even be close to resembling the greatest nation on earth that I grew up in, and served in the military for 24 years.

Witch Hitlery really is one of the absolute worst candidates to come along in a LOOOONG time! She is a terrible speaker, has no personality, doesn't answer questions, is butt ugly, and if the media were honest and would start showing how she uses different accents depending on who she is speaking to, some might change their minds, then again maybe not.

I can easily explain the answer as to why this problem exist`s. Some time ago I tried on another board and got banned for life. They are a VERY pc board and no doubt most all here have at least cruised it and are or were members. The biggest problem this country has is political correctness. Even that "other " gun site that prides it`self on the 2nd amendment and is big on patriotism and chest thumping falls in lock step on no politic`s or religion talk. Why? Because when you get right down to it THAT board exist`s for ad money. Cant be pizzing off sponsors and potential advertisers. Phony, Phony, Phony! Habitually, you see posts everyday there that fall short and peter out with, alludes to "I would say more but I dont want to get banned." Yet many there habitually "kiss up" to their guru site owner.
Back to THIS thread. I have discussed the same with my wife. How can a christian vote for proven liars, womanizers, defenders of gays, pro abortionist`s, etc? Theresa says because they are the same themselves and see no wrong in those same views.
I say a christian MIGHT vote that way but only if they are as Rush Limbaugh says, low information voters or could be they are a brand new christian and dont yet understand bibical rules.
If a moron, chimpanzee or any unqualified person with just a little B.S. ability by some stroke of luck could get some money backing enough to get a democrat nomination, they automatically would probably have at least 45 percent of the votes locked up and not even have to answer one question to show where they are coming from!

I guess that could be said of large metro areas, but in smaller towns people are not that way. In large metros they hold golf tournaments to raise money for charity events. In small towns they hold clay pigeon shoots. America is still alive and well, it just needs your continued support and prayers.

With the people I see, the agenda of the Political monkeys, the misguided voice & state of mind of the voting people, the debt this Nation prints by the minute, I literally do not see hope for this Country & on the fringe of not even caring as it is very much out of our personal control - small scale do good for those around you

Yes, there are incidents of good, there are people who will always do good for others, there always will be, BUT as a whole, which direction are we going?
Which laws get enacted, who/what does the voter vote for?

First off I don't care who you want to screw who you want to vote for who you pray to etc. Your beliefs are just that your beliefs. For years and years all the fringe groups that the left crusaded for preached that just wanted equality. So why is it that not only have those groups become mainstream they are now going after what has mainstream normal america for years and years. Don't seem very equal to me. Why can they shove their beliefs and way of doing things in my face 24/7 yet if I so much as mention my beliefs I am some racist bigoted hate monger.

Just disgusted by the majority of society. So much of the crap is brought on by people incapable or unwilling to think for themselves. So they just jump in with what ever group the media tells them too. Until enough people see themselves as individuals again and start thinking for themselves we are screwed. One of my best and oldest friends voted for all of them and will vote for Hillary too. He is an eminent scientist at the top of his research field and an emigre from Iranian oppression to boot.

My son and DIL -- both college grads, well read, and up on current events -- are in that category.\

We are truly doomed but then by now that comes as no surprise. What is surprising to me is the number of otherwise right-minded people who will once again actively or passively assist Hillary's electoral win by splitting the opposition to her into warring factions.

We get what we deserve. In this case it is the greater of two evils.

Read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and you will see that the problem has been coming for a very long time. Even though her worldview is skewed and she falls short in her logic, (she has concluded that man at his best is the ultimate in achievement - she is a humanist who fails to give credit to her Creator), she never-the-less hits very close to the truth. IMHO, what we are actually seeing is the unfolding of God's prophesy concerning end times. Romans Chapter one talks about how men thinking themselves to be wise, became fools and how God has given men over to their wicked desires. I feel pain for all of my elders who gave their generation's life blood in sacrifice to our nation's freedom and who now have to stand by and watch their efforts mostly flushed down the drain by elected politicians who do not deserve to polish their shoes. Their efforts are not wasted though - had they not stood in the gap as they did, things would be much worse today. I would like to say "God bless America", but I do not believe that a righteous God can do that anymore. As I see things, we, as a nation, have almost completely turned our backs to Him and when we finally cut our support for Israel, the final lifting of His hand of mercy will happen. TD

However, there is an extremely articulate and sharp-as-a-tack woman republican who is running, and I believe that she's been ignored by the GOP "establishment" to the detriment of all of us. That woman is Carly Fiorina. She is razor sharp, and she could slice Shrillary to shreds in a debate.

Here's something to chew on: Fiorina/Walker. Cruz for Attorney General. Mitch Daniels to run (until he dismantles it) the dept. of education. Ron Paul to Audit the Federal Reserve. Rand Paul to dismantle the DOMESTIC spying program, and watchdog the watchers. Colonel Ralph Peters as Sec. of Defense. John Bolton as Sec. of State.

And we eliminate, let's say, 40% (for starters) of our federal agencies. Their employees can have one year of unemployment. Then, they're on their own. EPA ... gone. IRS ... abolished, in favor of a flat tax. Dept. of Education ... gone. In favor of local control of schools. Dept. of Health and Human Services ... headed up by Dr. Ben Carson, who will dismantle obummercare, and fix our health care system so that we truly help those in need, but without means, and stop penalizing doctors, medical device makers, and stop empowering and enriching insurance companies. +1 on Carly Fiorina. I'd take her over Shrillary any day. I remember listening to her destroy Barbara Boxer in a debate when she ran for Senate.

I'm sure there are people on this site who can quote bible verses, chapter and verse literally from memory. I'm not one of them and probably never will be. No matter. What I see is history repeating itself. Seems there was a place called Sodom and Gommorah. Seems they were so bad they got God mighty angry and he wiped them out. I wonder just how close to S&G's level of depravity the US of A has slipped down too? I'm thinking we're close to matching that den of iniquity or even surpassing it. The big thing is there aren't enough of us mad enough to try and turn it around. :x We all know our POTUS is wanting to place us under Sharia law if he can get away with it. I can only thank God the wife and I probably only have a few years left. My heart breaks for my kids, step kids and grandkids who will have to go through whatever dung hole this country becomes. I can understand there being bad individual ambitious people but I cant understand people voting and re voting them into office when they have been caught in lies, corruption etc. As my wife says the reason they get voted back in is the people that vote for them have the same corrupt morals or they couldnt vote for them. That means the honest in the country are outnumbered. We got trouble right here in river city!
