Buckeye
A couple of weeks ago me & Callshot decided to make a little safari looking for bucks, he's been itching to whack something with his new FA 41 maggie. He's shooting it really well but getting tired of punching paper & busting rocks. In the photo he's still a little scruffy from his Alaskan trip.
He did mention that he signed a few autographs, handed out brass & did a book signing in the airport restroom, I'm hoping it was the men's room but didn't ask.
Here he is with his FA 41 maggie & wearing his Barranti NWH rig.
I was packing my little J frame model 60 (nickel) just in case he needed back up. We didn't spot any deer but did see 2 herds of elk. One herd with a nice bull crossed through the trees right in front of us.
There were several elk feeding at the top of this canyon, including one mature bull. A short time later we ran into a neighbor whose wife had an elk tag for the following morning, we told him where they were located & she got that bull the next day, love it when the women or kids get a deer or elk.
One of my life long hobby's has been photographing old tree stumps, some of them look like they're on fire when the light is just right.
Oops, got the wrong photo at the top, was suppose to be this one.
