Guy wanted $100 to boot

I have a 1993 GP100 3" blued revolver with stock grips. Only had 6 38s down the pipe and put in nightstand by the bed. I wanted to trade for a stock CZ75B even. The guy says the CZ is worth $100 more than the GP. I told him no thanks. Was I wrong with the value.

Given equal condition, I'd say the $100 difference is the other way around. I am going to consider both "as new".

New stainless GP100s are in the $500-550 range. New 75Bs on Gunbroker seem to be $470-500

MSRP on a new 75B is $569. If they still made the 3" GP100 in blue, I'd put the MSRP at around $650. I compared stainless to blue in 6" for estimating the MSRP in blue.

Bud's Gun Shop: 75B is $483, GP100 is $536.

A straight up trade is a decent deal for him, even if his 75B is brand new.

Is the blued 3" GP the short lug? - rare!
Is it a .38 spl (only)? very rare. And short lug? just a few made!

3" revolvers are really in now with all the concealed carry guys. He'd be ahead in the deal if it were a even trade. Sell it outright here.

Thanks for the help. It is a full lug 357 and both guns are like new. I guess because CZ's are not that common around here he thinks it is worth more. I was thinking the GP was worth around $550.

It is a hardware deal. Don't get emotion mixed up with it.

Likewise, the new gun is a new gun and can be sold as such. The GP is a used gun no matter what condition and unless it has some provenance is only a used gun.

Want advice? Don't sell your guns. Any of them, especially handguns in an election year. - Jus' sayin...

If he is a dealer he cannot trade value for value and stay in business. He has to make profit. If he is an individual; not so much, and his gun is not "new" if it is a private sale and his and your guns are both owned by the two of you. He is probably looking at them as equal value and wants to be able to trade with you and make 100 dollars. You can't hate him for wanting to make a profit. Your Ruger is a lot rarer than the CZ, so sell your Ruger and BUY the CZ you want.

Now that's funny. I've shot over 5000 rounds through my CZ75 without a single jam, FTF, FTE or any other malfunction. Just what are you basing your statement on? Your vast experience with YOUR CZ? Please don't make misleading statements that you can't back up.
