Marshall Dillon, Chester, Festus and Slim Pickins all on the same show!
I'll be the first to admit I never saw all the shows, but never imagined this. Yet it really makes sense. There had to be a transition from Chester to Festus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF0RN7eeBGs

Just a comment about the gambler flashing all his money after he won it all.
Actually Kenny's been making music since the late 50's. The Gambler was much later though.

Most folks don't remember that Gunsmoke was one of Burt Reynolds first shows. He was a regular for several years as Quint the blacksmith.

Steve :)

Don't know if of you get XM radio but they have a Radio Classics station that often plays the old Gunsmoke radio shows with William Conrad as Matt Dillon. They are fantastic too.

Pretty much why I said that he came to country later. I think he started with the 5th Dimension.

I don't think Kenny Rogers was doing any known professional music in the 50's. The 60's, yes. "Kenny Rogers & the 1st Edition" had a record release with a minor hot called; "Something's Burning" & a few other minor successes before he went "solo." As far as I know,,, he never played, nor acted on Gunsmoke.

I can't believe you all missed "Chuck" from Whirlybirds sitting in on that poker game.

Gunsmoke still is a good show.

Now there was a good adventure show. Whirlybirds, Ripcord, and the predecessor to Emergency, Rescue 8. Can't remember who name of one of the leads in Rescue 8, but he did a lot of westerns, often a bad guy.

My favorite show. I've seen most episodes through season 16.

Ol Marshall Dillon aged a lot in those years. Was it all the beer or all the near misses?
