Greetings all. I got a Ruger GSR recently. I really love the rifle. I am finding that the bolt binds occasionally when loading a fresh round into the chamber. This occurs regardless of magazines I use. Also this binding happens when the bolt is fully to the rear and I am trying to move forward, strip a round from the magazine and load a round. Once past half way through action it is smooth again. I have a few M77 auctioned rifles and they are all smooth as silk throughout the entire range of the bolt travel. I do not see any burrs or rough areas along the races of the action. Is this considered normal for this rifle? I have only 100-150 rounds through the rifle. Does anyone know if this will ease up after a while or get smoother? Is this something that people have heard of historically? Either way I am keeping this rifle. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Give it some time. The more you shoot it the smoother it will get. You could probably help things along with a polishing cloth but I chose to let it "wear in" naturally.

Nothing a little toothpaste and a rainy Sunday afternoon can't fix.
Shoulder it and cycle like a mad man. Wipe frequently and re-apply.
Plus you get the added benefit of building up your shoulders and
arms. Practice is a good thing. I've seen some guys run this gun
pretty fast and accurate. Good luck. -keith
