Grip makers look at things from a different view

As some of you know I also run a auto repair shop. This used engine came in today.

The Tech in me can see I have alot of cleaning to do :(

The grip maker in me is looking at the skid it came on :D .

The bottom boards are Curly Maple :mrgreen:

No doubt that is a good find. Curly Maple is somewhat expensive when you can find it. I have some here along with a couple dozen exotic woods left over from when I used to do woodworking.

Only people like you and I see Curley Maple as a thing of beauty. Structurally, it is fairly good for making pallets and dunnage.
I have found some very fine pieces in old shipping pallets and the thickness was just about right for grips also. :wink:
