Grip frame fitting, to Flat Tops..........

Has anybody fit (or tried to) the XR-3RED grip frame to a New Model Flat Top? If, can you post a photo?

Not yet but I will as soon as it arrives. Got a stainless FT that needs to shed some weight. Since I can't get an aluminum XR3 grip frame, I'll have to use a -Red. I plan to strip any finish off and leave it "in the white". I'll probably order up an Aluminum ERH as well.

Yes, only one modification needed: An XR3-RED will need the divot cut above the trigger guard for the free spin pawl in the NM FT. And the XR3-RED grip frame should be post 1997 to have tall enough ears for the FTs and NVs.

Here's my OM FT 44 spl converted from 357, but of course it's the exact same size and proportion as a NM FT. It has an XR3 RED grip frame.
